Default New LST (or is it)

Hi, I've finally bought a new LST from my LHS but when I got it home and was looking at the 2 big Spur Gears under the large cover they are plastic. Can anyone tell me whether that is normal, I thought TL had changed them to metal. SN = 010469

Cheers
Steve

The plastic ones will last a long time if you can keep stuff like sticks, dirt and gravel out of them. An RPM cover is a good investment.
