now I hear killerhobbies does it even cheaper if you talk to him.
so Id email killerhobbies and inquire.
Im all for supporting the LHS, as much as I like killer. but Im not out to finance the LHS's new yacht, and if they are demanding retail, thats not gonna fly. so call killer, get a quote, then call your LHS and give him a chance to beat it, but factor in shipping from killer, and tax from the LHS. see how it comes out.

RE: Where can I buy me a new Losi
I know several LHS owners, and I can tell you NONE of them are getting rich. Even the guy that owns the store that sells 3/4 of a million in stock every year only salaries himself around 30K, and drives an old Toyota, has a very modest house etc. No one that owns a hobby shop is making a killing. Not one. Look how much they have to work. I'll bet lots of money that 99% of all LHS owners are at the store 99% of the time the shop is open. And stores that can't sell a high volume have to sell at retail. Otherwise, the ship will sink. Do you realize that at least 50% of all new businesses fail within the first year? I bet its close to that figure for hobby shops too. The only people involved in hobby shops that might have a yacht will be the top exec's at the large franchised stores. Even then I bet they only make low 6 figure to high 5 figure salaries. Probably not enough to own a yacht.
The overhead for a brick and mortor store is unreal. And its not small for an online store either. Sure, not all of them are smart enough to realize that every purchase is vital to the success of their business, but when you find one that gives you great service, stick with them as much as possible. This is especially true if you race. Because, if you get good, you might be able to swing yourself a percentage deal in exchange for advertising - gotta represent!
If you buy your truck from Killer (Matt has THE BEST online hobby shop), you'll get great service. But, if you want to get some tuning advice after the purchase, the LHS can do it face-to-face. Having someone to talk to and ask questions of is invaluable. Go to the LHS that treats you right. Buy everything you can from them. What they don't have in stock get on line from Killer Hobbies.

My LHS's ALWAYS beat online prices for cars for me. I'm willing to pay another $5 over online cost for an engine, or the same as online price for a servo.
