there was a big thread on this.
according to mag testing, the performance increase is borderline negligable.
idea is that on a 2stroke motor the exhaust and intake ports are both open together; meaning its impossible to pressurize the cyclinder. push air in and itll go right out.
the small benefit is that it is more efficient at clearing the cylinder exhaust out. so there is that gain.
all in all, for the cost, a better engine would almost always be leaps and bounds more economical.
