Aftershock = front wheel drive!
took my truck out today after replacing spur gears and clutch due to melting.....
got about 10 min into my run and the back wheels completely quit turning..... the front wheels just spun on the dirt.
picked it up and the dogbone going from the center diff to the rear wheels was turning, but the wheels were not moving....
turned off the engine and the rear wheels spin independent of each other (instead of opposite directions as they should).
so, anyone know what happened??????

Sounds like a blown diff or your grub screw is loose. I would check the grub screw in the driveshaft and make sure its loctited and the grub screw is lined up with the flatspot on the diff outdrive. Check out this thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3694106/tm.htm
Even though its a different truck, its very much alike.

RE: Aftershock = front wheel drive!
you are correct my friend!
i actually sat down and read over the instructions..... i didn't know what those were, but my wife explained to me there is some paper that comes with things that tells you about them.... who'd of known!
anyway, it was the grub screw coming out of the trans. it was tight enough to turn the shaft, but not tight enough to make the wheels spin. anyway, all tightened up and ready to go.
thanks for the fast reply!

I would like to suggest that you use blue or red*as losi recommends* loctite. Tightening it up is fine, but It will more than likely happen again if you don't use something such as loctite.

I've never used red loctite anywhere on my LST, the thing is I learned not to use liquid blue loctite. The paste and gel sticks form a much tighter bond, almost as good as red if you use too much of it, not to mention that there is no waite to dry with the paste or gel.
