Default HELP!! fast! break-in LRP spec 3

hi, I am now starting to break-in my nwe lrp engine with the heat cycle method, and cant get it to temp, I start it and run it in circles in my garage at low throtle and I only get 110-120f, I lean it a bit to get to 120f, but I am afraid of lean it to much. the weather here is warm. What can I do? lean it more to get the 200f?

Wrap the cooling head with a rag or aluminum foil and use a rubberband to hold it on. If you see that temps start to get too hot, fold down the rag or foil so 1 or 2 of the fins are exposed and get it moving so the air is cooling it down.

If the cooling head is wrapped and you cant break 180 degree's you need to lean it out some on both needles until you can get those temps. I would only lean the low speed needle slightly. You may want to try a larger area than a garage (dont know how big your garage is), I would make 30-40 feet runs back and forth at varied throttle inputs a few times and see where the temps are.

Lean it, you are doing harm running it at 120F.

Lean it some. According to every heat cycle method I've seen you should only be slightly rich. Also, be sure to put the piston at bdc when you shut it off to let it cool.

It depends on how long you run it like that. At that low of a temp the sleeve isnt expanding to accomidate the piston, thats why its so important to put the piston at BDC when you shut it down, so the sleeve contracts as it cools. If you are now getting it up to the right temps, I wouldnt even worry about it. Theres nothing you could do anyway, get it broken in and enjoy it.

Use a heat gun on the engine.
