New LST2 Beetle body!
Well, it finally came in stock... My LHS got em in yesterday, and i picked it up today. This body will require longer posts to be mounted. If you dont, you'll have the rear of the truck squatting, and then you'll have a problem with the body itself, hitting the adjustment collars on the shocks. You MAY be able to drill new holes in the rear body posts near the bottom, to make them work. I'll be buying the longer posts. Anyway, here it is. Not painted, but its mounted for a pic. And again TL has neglected to put overspray film on this body. Grrrrrr....

Reiko, do you want the wheel base lenght, or the bumper to bumper length?
Myrddin, i havent painted it yet. It'll be done this week. I've got a table full of bodies with liquid mask on them right now. I will be painting it in similar fashion to my Muggy body, and my Savage XSS body. I may however change up the colors again. But the overall design will remain the same. With the exception, that this body will naturally get the TL logos, instead of the HPI racing logos.
Morkendi, i'll set it on the Muggy for ya, and snap some pics. It'll be tomorrow morning before that happens. I just put another layer of liquid mask on it.

Ok Mork, here ya go. This body looks like it will fit the muggy just fine. You'll have to get the same extended body posts though, for the rear. You'll end up cutting the body for the wing, regardless of which truck you'd run it on as well. And it appears fueling will be tricky with the body on the LST2, and not soo much a problem on the muggy. Starting would be a pain with either. Though you can bump start the Muggy, if you have the engine, and mount for that. Anyway, here are the pics i promised. I've got some customers to take care of first, but i'll paint this one for myself this week sometime too.

RE: New LST2 Beetle body!
Can you show a shot of the rear? I'm guessing its more Baja style than bug style... Just out of curiosity... what would you charge me to have you do me one up? Also any ideas what I can do to patch some holes in a body? thinking about dryer sheets and CA... The LST came with a ford body and a dodge body (see a pic in the gallery) not sure if I can fix the ford or not (I had to drill extra holes just inboard of what he had) so there are 8 holes now.

The best way to patch a body I have found is shoe goo and fiberglass mesh drywall tape. OR the tape and gorilla glue works well too! With show goo it will flex still. With gorilla glue, it wont flex.
