RE: STS 30?
I have not had much success changing pipes. Never seemed to me to make as much difference as others sometimes report about the STS 30.
I have found effort put into the carb is much more worthwhile. Sometimes changing the O rings helps, sometimes the teflon tape on threads of the LSN.
I have used a Novarossi carb with complete success, and also a carb off the Savage K engine. The K engine carbs are sold new at Tower Hobbies for around $50.00.
Good luck, this is a great engine when you have it working right, but the carb just is the "nuts"

RE: STS 30?
i pulled the needles out yesterday and i looked at the o rings and they looked fine i havent run it since then because of the weather. i cleaned out the carb and blew some compressed air through it to make sure it was clean so i hoped that fixed it and if it doesnt im going to buy the sts pipe.

Don't worry about the pipe, I've never run the STS pipe on mine and it runs great.
I know your O-rings looked fine, mine did too, but they are the problem. A little pipe tape on the threads of the LSN helps, but the HPI S-25 carb o-rings and some green slime on them completely cured my changing tune. They are a tight fit, but a ton cheaper than that new pipe.

Alot of people are seeing failures after only a few gallons. Mine is over 8 and fine, but aparently that is not the norm. I would look into a Mach 427, LRP Spec 3, or Nova Rossi, depending on your budget.
