RE: Official Muggy thread
I dont own a mugg yet but this december when i get home from Iraq i plan on getting one. I dont plan to change very many things on it but was wondering if the suspension arms were the same as the lst2 cause my buddy out here in iraq has the lst2 and i like that one too but i see those alot so i want a muggy cause i just love the way it looks and sit's and from what i hear it performs like no other. So if you could just fill me in on this subject i would greatly appreciate it.

Arms are the same.. Pretty much everything from the diff out to the wheels.. Then also bumpers, body posts, hmm.. think that's it..

RE: Official Muggy thread
What kind of suspension arms is everyone running cause that is the first thing i am going to buy and maybe some stiffer springs. I havent looked yet but i think rpm has a set of arms for the lst2.

RE: Official Muggy thread
I'm skeptical that RPM's are worth it to be honest.. They're good for sure(have them on my LST2..), but they're expensive. Don't forget you need spacers and the Lunsford links to go with them...
Or, just buy 4 complete stock arms on ebay for a quarter of the price. It's a dead-easy fix, and to be honest I've broken 1 lower am in a year and 7-8 gallons of running.. I just don't think Muggys break arms that much.. - or at least enough to justify the cost of RPM's..
So my advice is buy 4 arms off ebay(along with a few other backups which are good to have on hand - hubs, shock shafts and shock rebuild kit, CLUTCH BEARINGS.. Your wing moutn will be the first thing to break.. Etc etc...) , and invest your money in a Fioroni clutch... Much better investment IMO... - defo worth the money... If you want the links from amain just ask...
Anyway, there are much better ways to invest in a Muggy IMO:
1.) clutch
2.) wheels/tires
3.) single-servo set-up
4.) engine/pipe
...
..pretty much in that order is how I look at it..

RE: Official Muggy thread
I like the way that the muggy looks, but to me there isnt that much of a difference between the lst2 and muggy is there or am i missing something. And is the muggy as durable as everyone says it is. Either way i am still going to buy it lol. But i just want to see what people that own them think. Thanks again for all the help.

RE: Official Muggy thread
I own a muggy and it is a beast!! THey are great cars for getting into nitro and they have the performance of more expensive cars. They will hold up great for bashing and with the right mods they can competively race with $900 truggies. (And you'll have a 3 pound weight advantage) LOL
The mach 427 has great power and is very drivable. It is also one of the easiest big block engines to tune. Here is mine and I wouldn't trade it for the world. As for RPM arms they are worth it for racing
Hope this helps!

RE: Official Muggy thread
There are a ton of great servos for under $150, I know JR has some good ones, if I remember correctly a really good one was the 9100T, some where around $115.
Now only if I could run my muggy here in winter!
20 degrees, here. Snap, snap snap snap. There goes my plastic parts! LOL
Time for Indoor RC micro Heli!!!!

RE: Official Muggy thread
The weight of the stock tires/wheels and tall gearing are harder on clutch bell bearings than the chassis flex, the muggy has less than my Xray XT8 for instance. A one piece engine mount does wonders for this.
As far as a singe servo setup as a 'winter' project, it takes five minutes once you have the servo.
Decent setup with stock plate...
Best setup, still using this exact same servo over 2 years later in a Xray...

RE: Official Muggy thread
I have putted proline 40' wheels and tires on my truck , I found that all the wheels and tires keep shaking , when the car was runing. Someone said that this problem caused by having not balanced the wheels. I realized that muggy pre-mount big wheel and tires. can the wheels and tires of muggy keep balancing , while the car is running ? or should i balance the wheel by myself after i got my muggy ? thank you for you guys advice.

I have my own balancer. If you don't have one you should see if you can borrow or make one.... once you run balanced tires/wheels you will never want to run without balanced tires and wheels....

RE: Official Muggy thread
I've decided to OFF my Warhead EVO and set up my Muggy for racing in our local Monster truck class here in MI. That's what class they say I'd run in anyway(probably better than a Truggy class w/ all the Jammin's). My question is : What is the best overall set-up as far as fluids( diff's and shox), gearing, clutch, cb and spur gear and tire/rim combo. and radio/servo set. I'm running the stock motor w/ a carbon fiber Vantage pipe and it seems to have plenty of grunt. I know conditions will varie and have Badland Pro-Lines on Maximizer beadlock rims as of now. Any help is appreciated...Mess...[:@]

RE: Official Muggy thread

RE: Official Muggy thread
Yea, diff = fr to rear. I race on a small track and its mostly revo's. Me and this other guy race Muggy's. He is way better than me and he usually finishes in the top 3. I've raced my muggy and my revo and finished in the top 5 with both.
Here is my muggy in action:
