Default LST dying

I have an LST 1 with the stock Mach .26. My problem is that it keeps dying after letting off the throttle. It doesn't happen everytime but definately most of the time. I can set the idle high enough where it wants to creep a little and it still does it. I have to be honest and say that I did take it to the beach on my vacation and the air filter came off allowing some sand into the carb. I did not run it after that happened and when we got back home I took off the carb, backplate and head to flush out the engine. I used a whole quart of fuel to flush it out completely. I could not visually see any damages to the engine. Anybody have any thoughts?

Default RE: LST dying

How much pinch is left in the engine? e.g. how hard is it to turn the engine over by hand?
