20% vs 30%
Does anyone have issues with using 30% nitro over 20%. I was thinking on switching to 30%. Does it wear on motors more? Do you guys here not buy or trade for other rc'c on this site because someone used 30% in their ride?

RE: 20% vs 30%
Yes using 30% does lead to faster engine wear because the increase in power puts more stress on internal engine components .
It can also make an engine harder to tune because of the added nitro .
Its the price you have to pay for more power .

30% run's cooler in my experience because you can run richer with the same power. It tends to run more consistent and tune easier. IMO of course.

RE: 20% vs 30%
I broke in using 1 gallon of Losi Nitrotane 20%. Good fuel for new engines, alot of oil and decent tune. This did cause owb problems though. Now I'm using Byron's 30% race and it made a noticeable differnce in performance. So far it runs much cooler but it's still rich, but this fuel burns so clean you watch temps instead of smoke. Once I get my tune spot on, it'll be a mean machine. Buy a quart and see what happens. When I switched I noticed: my owb problem went away, my truck ran cooler, throttle response improved as did starting. Did I mention it smells great! Big trucks like a big bang in there fuel! Running cooler in my opinion means I can get a little leaner and meaner with my tune or leave it and be safe. In my opinion you don't need that much oil running through your engine to protect it. It makes tuning difficult because you almost always have smoke because your burning oil. Just some things to consider when buying fuel, the most important thing in my opinion for your nitro engine.
