Take your engine back out and spin your clutch bell. Will it spin freely?

I think it is normal to have them spin a little. How fast do the wheels spin?

hey man, I think I may have the answer for you. Did you keep the original collet that came with your original engine/output shaft? If you tried to use the new collet that came with the new engine it won't work without a lot of fiddling.

Nope, a constantly engaging clutch is a BAD thing. Wears the shoes quick...

sure you are turning the idle. not the low speed. checked your throttle trim. Is the return spring pulling the slide back all the way.

I have the same problem. I just finished replacing the owb but that was a different problem. But for my clutch always engauged problem, I took the clutch bell off and found the inner bearing felt rough, so I replaced both 5x10 bearings. It's pretty common for these to go bad after a gallon of fuel or so depending how hard you run. My run away truck got worse as it got hot. That's why I suspect those bearings. Also check your servo's for proper operation and posistion at idle. My run away truck repair isn't confirmed yet. But I'm pretty sure I got it, reason I'm confident is when I would roll the chassis across the ground looking for drivetrain binding I noticed the clutch bell was ringin. After the bearing replacement the ringin noise was gone. So this leads me to believe the bearing had a slip and stick condition. But hey I won't know till I run it, if it doesn't sit and idle I'll be posting with you! Hope this helps.

Drove mine today and well there's still a problem[] I noticed during warm up it shifted into 2nd and did not go back into 1st. Upon slowing down I had to use my foot to stop it then it stalled and would not restart. Had to get the wheels off the ground to start. I tried reverse and low gear select on the trans but still moves on it's own. Not sure what I got here any ideas?

if when you try and start the engine, the wheels spin, then the drive is engaged via the clutchbell on the output shaft. Did you use the collet that came with the new or old engine?
