Default I'm looking at the Mega Baja Monster Beetle

Anyone recommend it? What I REALLY want is the FG Monster Beetle, but unfortunately that one runs over $1000. This Mega Baja from Losi runs around $450 and seems to be able to do everything the FG Monster can. If anyone here owns the Mega Baja Monster Beetle, please tell me, should I buy that one, or keep saving for the FG Monster Beetle?

What do you guys recommend?

LOSI Mega Monster Beetle

or

FG Monster Beetle

yeah, dont buy the truck because of the body. The bug body itself is only a matter of about 25$. If you are more into bashing, than buy the LST2 and the bug body. The LST2 is way tougher, it has a better engine and pipe, better radio, shocks, arms/cvd's, has reverse transmission, and high/low selector. Almost everyone who has bought the Mega Baja/Aftershock/Raminater, has wished they waited to buy the LST2. It may seem like alot of money (650$) but in the long run, it is cheaper. I have spent over1200$ so far on my Aftershock, and I still dont have some of the things a stock LST2 has.

If my LHS would have had the mega baja in stock I would have bought it instead of my Aftershock...but it has been good so far. baja comes with the electric spin-starter, glow driver, and rechargable receiver pack with charger. It's a good bang for the buck!!! It is plenty bash worthy! LST2 if your racing maybe.

The LST2 is also a stronger basher.

I have the Mega Baja and I love it. Sure will save money in the long run if you go with the LST2 but bang for the buck, the Mega Baja/Raminator/Aftershock are the way to go. If you go with the Baja, get the lunsford turnbuckles and pins right away to have some extra strenght.

If I were you I would go with the Megabaja. It's cheaper, will break just as easily as the LST2 and you will have $200 that you didn't spend to help with repairs. Granted the LST2 has more 'upgrades' but in the end stuff still breaks and it costs more to replace the 'upgraded' parts. Also remember the faster it goes, the more likely it will really break if you hit something. Another thing just because you pay more doesn't mean you are getting more for your dollar...especially if you plan on bashing over racing. If you just want to bash and bash then get the Megabaja..if you want to race get the LST2. LOL just my $.02 from experience.

Where are you finding this bug body for $25? I've only seen them for $45.

If it is clear, it is only 25$. Painting the body is one of the most fun parts of RC'ing, why buy a pre-painted body?
