Default M26ss. . .

Ok, im going to order the Aftershock thursday, it should arrive tuesday morning at my lhs. Is the M26ss an ok engine, or should i upgrade before even breaking it in? I have heard is was a strong motor without the stock pipe... An info would be good.

yes, the m26ss is a strong engine with one simple fix, the lst2 stock pipe. it is a reliable engine that should last you till ya get comfortable with the truck.

Thanks for the input, i cant wait to get the truck... I've been wanting a lst/aft/lst2 for years now and for some reason never picked one up. Got rid of 2 Savages, and Revo. I've been without a truck for to long

Awesome engine, very strong, takes a beating quite well. Im on my 14th gallon since june of 2007 and I havent noticed any real loss of power. Still wheelies like crazy when it hits 2nd gear.

You are gonna love it since you already ordered the losi "HT" pipe, but you will want to order the LST2 2nd gear and hub to make it work properly. The stock aftershock 2nd gear hub has a tendancy to stick, and you will notice it when it stops shifting, seems laggy, boggy and melts your primary clutch. Its design is flawed, they used a stainless sleeve inside the molded plastic gear and it deforms (goes oval) and bindes the 2nd gear clutch shoes. The LST2 uses an aluminum hub that wont deform.

Part numbers are: LOSB3411 - 2spd high gear hub w/bearing and LOSB3424 - 63t spur gear (2nd).

This is what it comes with:

This is what you want:

Some ppl will tell you that you need the whole gear assembly, including the slipper, and first gear spur, but you dont, I only bought these 3 things and nuthin more.(HT pipe, high gear hub, and high gear spur)

Cheers.
