New Era is the best.. Great handle too!!..

Seriously, I think the New Era is a fantastic upgrade for a basher LST2.. Not only does it protect stuff on roll-overs.., but it seems to add overall rigidity to the chassis..

Defo THE roll-bar to get.. Especially if you occasionally jump as badly as I do..

(No prob with the NE roll-bar.. )

I agree. New era is the best and not that expensive.

I agree with everyone above... I have my original LST for years and after many bad landings, bashings, etc.... I can't say enough about the New Era cage and it does make a perfect handle to moving it around on a workbench etc.

I heard about electronic glitch when using a rollcage.

Did the newera give you glitching problems?

None whatsoever.. That's bogus.

The only slight issue with the NE bar is that it somewhat hinders access to the radio box. But that's minor compared to the pluses of it..

it is extremely strong. i can easily stand on it. Several rollovers and upside down landings, and no bends yet.

The new era roll bar imo is the strongest one out there for the lst. Its super strong and does not restrict access to the entire truck (only the receiver box which you probably won't open every day )

The stock lst2 blue body fits over it even when the body posts are on the lowest possible setting, the crowd pleaser 2.0 body that you see in the above pic will need the posts to be at the highest setting.

Ok guys,

i got my hand on a nice deal there.

I know its not a good and strong one, but for 15$ brand new, i could'nt say no.
I bought a Integy.

I know that, just by looking at it that its not a good one.
The aluminium is nice looking, but too soft. This roll bar wont stay straight for long. Its obvious.

I went at my LHS and ask to guy for Rollcag/bar/handle.
I said he had one that a costumer brought back to his store cuz according to the guy, it would not fit the LST/AFT.

I told him i would take it if he gave me a good deal on it.
Retail 28$CAD, got it for 15$CAD, taxes included. good deal even though its not a quality one.
It will do the job for awhile... giv ing a chance to find a proper one at a good price.

I will pick the NE one for sure... just waiting for a good deal.

The VG racing cage is a PIG. It weighs over 1lb. It is one of the strongest FULL cages out there but its heavy and will tear up drivetrain parts when bashing. I had one for a short time but you have to change the shock oil and springs to acomidate the extra weight. I then sold it for what i had into it and bough the NE roll cage. Very light and super strong. I think NE is the best one to save weight. The VG one looks cool though but hey looks arent everything.

nope. it may weigh close to one pound (not sure) but you are completely exaggerating. You will have to make ZERO changes to the truck including the suspention. Also, its obvious that it will not distroy the drivetrain. The cage doesnt make any noticeable difference while driving other than it wheelies easier.

Well lets see. Adding weight adds weight to the suspension and drivetrain parts. More weight means more stress. When I added mine it would bottom out extremely easy until I made adjustments to the suspension. 1lb is alot of weight to add to a truck that is already heavy. Jumping with more weight causes more stress on components. People strive to lose weight off of their trucks. A lighter truck will not have as much stress as a heavy truck. The VG roll cage is the heaviest cage you can get for about any truck. If you can get a cage that is just as strong or stronger with half the weight then why even try the VG cage. The NE cage is also cheaper. Im not knocking the VG cage because I have one but its alot of weight to add to any truck.

I'll have some of whatever your Smoking
You'd have to be on something to think that All that Weight sitting at the Highest Part of the Truck Doesn't have a Lot of Effect on the Handling and the COG

PS. the RC Solutions Cage is made from alum and it's 12 oz........ So that VG cage made of Steal Probably is a Pound......

The VG cage is over 1 lb. It weighs 1.25 lbs. [X(] And yes it has alot of effect on just about every aspect of the truck. And just to show I do know what I am talking about I have both cages.

more wheight higher = higher CG = less precise handling.

more weight on the frame = more sprung weight = a suspenssion that works harder the moment the wheels touch the ground
(yes, your precious shelf queen is suffering from that cage. lolllll)

more weight = a lower power/weight ratio = less performance (i'm sure you wont notice that... your truck is so heavy you wont be able to reach peak power cuz it handles like crap)

But anyway, i agree the VG looks hot.
To add to that look (and weight but hey, who cares¡) i would weld checker plates on the side, hood and roof... just like a 25 pounder body shell... it sure would look nice.[8D]

Dont take me too seriously, i'm being a pain here.

thanks for basicly summing up the last 2 posts, it really make it easier to understand.

hey buddy with the spurrs wheelie bar... did you make any mods to it for it not to bend? I had mine for 2 weeks and it bent like a popcicle stick. Thats why i dont waste my money on aluminum...

Yes I actually moded it to fit through the bumper and skid plate for more support. Its not meant for any kind of bashing. Its meant for dragging but this does make it alot stronger.

I bought the Intergy one aswell, looks ok but probibly won't last but for 15 bucks i got it..I like the way the New era one mounts alot better than this one but will see if it holds up.I like the look of the vg cage the best but do wonder about how the weight affects it's overall handeling.Anyone ever use a Axial 28 in there shock?I have one in my muggy but don't like it so I'm getting something different for the Muggy and thought about trying it in the shock any thoughts.
