Well, i wouldnt call it a downgrade.... Other than the shocks and lack of a high/low selector on the tranny (was that REALLY usefull) Is there really anything else that was "downgraded"?

You have to give up something to get something else that is better , engine and radio . Your "downgrades " are easy to upgrade and worth the trade off .

You can add the high/low option with a servo , a few parts and the gears .

yeah I understand that but why release a truck that has lower grade parts as an (upgraded truck) now don't get me wrong I love losi and my two trucks, but don't take away from something that works and say it is better

If it had everything a LST2 had plus the better engine and radio it would have a $800 price tag .

well it would be worth it, now don't think I'm trying to put it down...I want one myself and if I get enough overtime as summer heats up I will get one ...it just seems a shame they skimped on important areas, but as soon as I can afford it I will get it if not for just the radio

It seems you have gotten some bad info somewhere and that's maybe why you don't like it? The diff cases are aluminum. In fact, the entire diff assembly is the exact same sealed unit from the lst 2 ...

As for the 900mah battery, well, 200mah isn't that big of a deal, and anyone that's going to upgrade a 900mah pack would have upgraded an 1100mah pack, so its a non-issue really.

The diff covers aren't plastic, and the battery is a 1100mah. Losi just advertised it with a 900mah. The XXL is far from a downgrade and a a much better deal than a lst2.

Wow I just checked and mine says 1100 too.... It showed well over 900mah cycled it with my triton Jr, but lots of batteries have more than advertised capacity so i didn't think about it... I wonder why ost would advertise it as 900mah?

I'd say. . . .we've been having all the fun with our XXL's while some have been fed some wrong info. Someone didn't do their homework. This truck is a beast. I love my truck. . . Sorry to all the guys who still wanted the LST2. Save up and get the XXL. . . you won't be disappointed!!
Peace Out!

don't get me wrong I do not dislike it I want one but maybe they changed from the ad on their site and I saw a pic on an xxl with a plastic diff and plastic shocks and their site shows a 900 mah battery...I have not done a lot of research I was just waiting to hear what people had to say that owned one before I decided to get one or just get what I want for my truck off ebay which would be the mill and the radio gear ...don't really care about it being longer or the body or the wheels

I'm sure it's a great truck too, but it's not that big of an upgrade. It's 1.) Losi's (somewhat ridiculous, doubling the X in the name...) marketing answer to "the bigger is better" trend in 1/8 MT's - see HPI, AE, etc.. HPI says "XL", Losi says "DOUBLE X L"...., and 2.) a chance to suck people in with the DX3S. It definitely is an upgrade with the new engine and the cool telemetry radio and all, but for peeps who already have upgraded engines, radios, etc on their LST2's it's not in the least something to feel jealous about. I personally couldn't care less about the extended chassis. I recently got a second LST2 for €399 with DX3.0, when the XXL is going for €639, and feel at those prices the LST2 was the better deal.

Now peeps who had just gotten an 8T right before the 8T 2.0 came out, I can imagine them being pretty p.issed....

I dont think losi was trying to one up HPI with the double X.... I just thought that they had the XX line of cars, and LST had 3 letters, so the name flows better if is LST XXL.... And besides, if they had gone with LST XL, you would have just said they are copying HPI...

Not at all . I bought an 8-T right before the new one came out . I got a great deal on it and there is much difference when driving them .
