RE: eBay gave me a free LST2!
DanMacMurray has nothing better to do.
If Duane0150 is the seller, and if he had a problem because his PayPal account was debted, then I could understand, but he's never said so. Want to blame someone, blame eBay for having a stupid policy.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO I don't what the problem is..
Like I said before, he should have never posted a thing about it.

And DanMacMurray is a putz!!

Okay ,this is getting way out of hand. Please stop with all the name calling ,okay fellas. This is a forum and everyone has right to voice their opinion.Okay.
Anyway I finally received a reply

eBay isn't going to do anything to you. The only thing they said was 'Please leave appropriate feedback.' I'm just not going to leave any feedback.
I called eBay today to double check what they first told me. They said it is NOT coming from your account. I specifically asked them. Have you heard anything from them?

One more thing I want to add is that I drive on a track only ,no bashing.I drive at Leisure Hours raceway in Joliet,Illinois.A very well known track and I have had many compliments when I had this truck on the track.
It was able to keep up with many high level truggies and the truck was still not fully dialed in.I will say that I am not a weekly racer but I do love the hobby and I love helping the new people into this wonderful hobby.I have been doing this for almost 15yrs.And I am well known and respected by the racers and the track owner.I know this grievance will come to hount me sooner or later. And I regret that this incidence ever happened. So thanks to all for your input.

RE: eBay gave me a free LST2!
I'm not saying I think anyone is at fault but I will admit this is a very interesting situation. Ebay seems to swing totally from one extreme to the other. From what I've read they've gone pretty crazy with seller fees & the feedback system. The fees don't bother me much since I know a lot of sellers just tack it onto the item's starting price or shipping. The feedback is a little wierd though. Giving a seller all four stars instead of mostly 5 stars kindof puts them on probation. It forces sellers to be more customer oriented but it might be going a little too far. A long time ago I ordered something for my wife & the seller promised fast shipping. I paid immediately after the auction ended & she waited about a week & a half to ship the item. I gave her positive feedback but commented that the shipping was a little slow. She blasted me with something like "IMMATURE BUYER KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT EBAY OR SHIPPING TIME" & gave me a positive rating. It's not like it took 1 1/2 weeks to get here... She waited 1 1/2 weeks to ship it after stating she shipped items several times a week. Needless to say I didn't buy anything else from her. It's a crap shoot anytime you bid or sell on ebay & I'm not real big on taking chances when I don't need to.
Best of luck to both people involved. I hope the money doesn't come out of the seller's account. With any luck ebay will eat it & won't pass the bill to future users.

RE: eBay gave me a free LST2!
What I don't understand is why people are bashing the OP without any proof that his claims are not true. How can you call someone a lier and not have proof that what he is saying is false? To me it is very plausable that e-bay has changed their policys - yet again - in an effort to improve their customer satisfaction index. And, if they have, I don't see how it will affect fees anymore than some of the national advertising campaigns have. Why is the seller even concerned about this? He does not say that e-bay (or pay-pal) have taken any money back - or even contacted him, so why should he care what e-bay does???? As for the servos, I have personally sold things through e-bay that I believed to be in perfect working condition only to have the buyer find something wrong that I did not know about - so even that claim is possible and no ones "fault".
And, as for calling someone a lier over lost e-mail, how over the top is that???? If someone tries to tell me they have never sent (or not recieved) a lost e-mail then I know that they are absolutely lieing!!!!!! E-mails can and do get lost in cyberspace everyday - probably every second...
Finally, I have two thoughts.
First, Dan, you owe Stelth-Revo a public appology before he figures out that you have libeled him (unsubstaniated, written accusations intended to harm a persons reputation are libel) and calls a lawyer, gets RCU to turn over your info and sues you for it.
Second, Stelth-Revo and Duane0150, I hope that you two can work this out - if anything even needs to be worked out - in private and amicably and that once all is said and done that you post up the final outcome.

RE: eBay gave me a free LST2!
Just thought of something else...
When I was actively buying and selling on e-bay I too had three accounts.
One was personal, one was a buisness and the third was a partnership.
All three were perfectly legit accounts and, for tax reasons, all needed to be spperate.
So anyone bashing Stelth for that needs to stop because there are legitimate reasons for having several accounts and since you don't know his personal buisness, IMHO, you need to put a lid on it.

RE: eBay gave me a free LST2!
DaveG55 - WELL SAID! Bravo! You put into words what I was thinking the whole time I read this thread.
Facts: Stealth bought a truck, paid $225 (great deal) for an LST2. He got it, it didn't work as advertised, so he tried to remedy the situation. E-mails got lost (or the seller didn't respond... who knows, who cares?). The next step is to contact eBay. eBay says, "Our new policy is to refund buyer's money and remedy the situation..." Stealth gets his money back (without asking for it) and seller keeps the money. Win-win for all parties. Stealth gets excited about the new truck and the AWESOME deal he just got.... posts it here and everyone jumps down his throat..... He's said many times that he will pay for the truck if it comes out of the seller's account. It's not like he's trying to hide anything or screw someone over... he's just excited about the great deal he just got.
This thread right here reminds me why I don't do much on RCU. There are so many ignorant people who's whole existance is to argue with you and point out faults.
The truth is, it's nobody's business but the buyer's and sellers. Dan - I hope you're happy.

my only mistake was posting to a thread on a topic "CARS" where many of the respondents are going to be spoiled kids with bad attitudes and not an ounce of scruples , who apparently are unable to read between the lines , much less the lines themselves .
please note as you read this thread that fully half of the respondents were cheering the fact that ebay Paid 225.00 when they should not have .
furthermore , to the folk's who keep saying "well if it didn't come out of the sellers pocket , who cares"
the fact of the matter is that Ebay will sooner or later try to charge / partially charge the seller for the 225.00 they refunded , the fact of the matter is that "we" as sellers and buyers will eventually have to pay for the LST too .
Dave , your lawyer calling was the funniest thing i have seen on this forum , thanks for the laugh !
regards
Dan

Wow some people are just plain annoying. Someone made a damn mistake whooptie doo. I make 100 thousand dollar mistakes alot that is why its called a mistake. But some people just take sh** to damn far and shouldnt have even open thier mouths. Ebay is a joke, that is why i dont use it there are just to many ways you could get screwed buying or selling. As far as i see it, it is the same as going to Vegas and putting a grand on the table and say the ball lands on red. Its a chance that you take. If the money came straight from EBAY then so be it. But most people in here are acting like little children with this he said she said BS. Just drop the damn subject and let everyone be on their marry way.

Hmmm, it seems that Dan cannot honor the request from the mods and stop "stirring the pot".
Dan, I'm glad you got a laugh but it seems to me that laughing at libeling someone says a LOT about your character. And not a lot that's good!!!
Dale, I think that you should go ahead and lock this thread and let the OP or the seller post a resolution, if/when one is reached, in a new post since some of our newer members cannot refrain from personal attacks.

RE: eBay gave me a free LST2!
Stealth,
I would be ashamed to even post such stuff. When something is sold as is and used there may be some little things wrong with it. You tried to nickle and dime some guy and feel great about getting a free truck out of the deal. Shame on you, hopefully I never sell you anything because who knows what you might have to say about it.

RE: eBay gave me a free LST2!
Guys, I think everyone has put in their $.02. Any productive discussion has been minimized at this point. I am going to try and eventually post some of eBay's new policies surrounding this controversy so that we may have a better idea on what transpired. In the words of Porky the Pig, a th-th-th-th-th-th-th-th-th-th-th-th-th That's All, Folks!
