Default Would my insurance cover a buddy box?

I'm teaching my son how to fly. I'm wondering if I need to get him individual insurance as long as he is buddied to my box? I know for sure I would need to get him his own coverage when he flies solo, but for now, I just want to make sure he is covered under my coverage.

He is covered while using the buddy box.
You also must be flying at a MAAC sanctioned club field.

It is a MAAC sanctioned field but no one is ever around to ask this to. He's probably not going to be ready for a solo until next year anyway. He just did his first flight (well first circuit) last night and he loved it. He also did remarably well (much better than my first time up).

Hi Jim,

Where do you fly?

Junior MAAC membership is $25.00.

Sign him up and there will be no question that he has insurance coverage.

That's a good question, we have been trying to get new folks to come out and try their hand at flying RC and have even built a "Club Trainer" for folks to try, with a buddy box.

good to know wew are covered

I thought coverage was only as a visitor....3 or less flights. Then you join. Maybe just our policy but I like it.

Mr Thornton lives in Brantford. I live in Brantford. I belong to the only club in Brantford. Mr Thornton does not. There is all sorts of help in our club. I know of only two registered fields in this area, none of them in the city limits. I asked him where he flies. He has not answered that question. I wonder why.
