Why would you pay 3-4 times more for the same battery from SR. I am trying to decide which way to go for my new 3w baby...

That's a pretty heavy price difference considering both use the same Sanyo cells in their battery packs. S&R does quality assembly. I believe Radical has theirs assembled by TNR, also a quality assembly house.

Radical RC 3000mah 6V RX pack

This is the Sanyo Sub C 3000 Nimh Cell. This cell is optimized for high current (electric flight packs), not weight. This cell has superior voltage under very high loads that it will never see as an RX pack. Weight 311g, 11 oz. Good pack to sellect if your looking for extra weight to solve CG problem.

Price: $29.50

I've paid SR's prices for packs, I've also purchased from Radical RC. I've had trouble with neither in any way (service, shipment or the packs themselves). My SR packs always cycle at more than the rating. My RRC packs always cycle at OR above the rating.

Both companies are willing to make the packs in the shape you want.

I cannot find fault with either. Why do you want someone to 'TELL' you what to do?? It is your money, spend it in the manner you see fit. As far as I can tell, you won't make a bad decision going with either. If your top priorities are price and weight, the choice is made...

I do not want anyone to tell me what to buy. I just want to know if I should go with NIMh, NiCad, or duralites. I do not know, if I should just jump on the the stream and go with duralites or nimh..
just that simple.

Do you have a charger that is capable of effectively charging the chemistry you choose?

How important is cost?

How important is weight?

How important is the longevity and reliability of the pack(s)?
