Less weight to roll around the axis.
Shorter "moment arm" to roll around the axis.
Less air resistance to overcome to roll around the axis.

Imagine you have a sheet of 1/4" x 4" x 36" balsa in your hands...

Now, wobble it side to side (like banking a wing) as fast as you can.

Now cut it in half and do it again.

This analogy may be a bit severe, but it get the point across.

Its exactly a clipped wing

Since mine is only my 2nd glow plane I left all the ribs in place and am still pretty happy on its performance.

The airplane should be moving faster as well because there is less wetted area (less drag). This also raises your cruise and stall speeds.

Mine is clipped 1 bay. Landing is still at a slow walk. High rates are 1" Up 5/8" Down. Rolls almost as fast a Dazzler. Just simply a blast.

The only other modification I did was to install a piece of light ply over top of the landing gear block. It is as wide as the fuselage and 1-1/2" long toward the nose of the plane. I put the blind nuts through it and epoxied it into the landing gear block.

Made a couple of landings that should have torn the gear off - pancaked hard - no problem. Just bent the gear back.

i will probably use nylon bolts, so that they shear off

Yup, and when they shear off they go right thru the bottom of the wing!
