To the guy making a big deal and telling everyone it's glow and not nitro, STOP. They are called this because of the way the engine works, not the fuel. Do you call diesel fuel glo-fuel as well?

Nitro and electric is no better than each other, it is all preference and you idiots and childrfen making a big deal of it are no better than people arguing Ford Vs. Chevy / Import Vs Domestic. Grow up.

And wth is with that nitroholic guy posting pics of his stock Jato every time he posts? Nobody cares!

And nobody mines with nitro fuel.

but everybody knows chevy is better. lol
and obviously deisel is glow fuel, just ask the glow guy. lol
and everyone mines with nitro fuel.

Exactly... it's not either or... it's both and.  That's why it's called a hobby... I'f flown it all (except turbine)... and they all have their place.  No one way is "best"... just good for what your doing at present.  The important part is that you're having fun, not what's powering your model (even if it's just the rising air of a slope).

Have you had a lipo fire? Apperamtally it's REAL funny to see someone's house, car, or RC to get brunt to a crisp. Not to mention the cost of replacing the lipo. Not something that someone needs to experince.

I had a fire once but not with the lipo batteries that most are now using and my buggy had a mechanical speed controler in it, doubled up the battery packs to try my hand at drag racing, it looked awsome as my buggy came screaming down the track pulling a 2ft flame out the back. Yes I was also having a laugh about it afterwoods.

lipos arent like a time bomb they dont just blow at any given time unless they are mis used if your gonna keep them in the garage or in the house there is a special bag you can get to store them in

IMO I would be more worried about fuel in my house than lipos. Most of the lipo fires aren't becasue of the battery, it's because of an error that someone made. Most chargers can since if it's on the wrong charge setting for the lipo. As long as you don't run a lipo that's damaged it will be fine.

Gonna have to agree with the people who are saying that neither one is better than the other. Myself being a nitro nut though, I have to say that there is just an enormous coolness factor of a tiny little internal combustion engine revving to the moon at 34,000+ RPMs powering your RC that electric RCs just can't compare to...

i have had 2 catastrophic failures with electric.  once i got the basics down with nitro, i have had no problems!  i am sure one of my bad outcomes with electric was my fault.  the point is, it just does not happen like that with nitro.  if i'm an idiot then nitro is idiot proof.  eiectric is not.  there can be smoke, sparks, fire and broken, irreparable expensive parts.  i wonder if op truly had any substantial experiene at all when he posted.  i'd like to know his hobbyist background ....

Well I'm using Nitro only at the moment and I know for sure that my buggy still needs batteries for the radio, reciever/servo's, glow plug driver and of course the starter box.
The battery boys just dont know what they are doing when it comes to the real engines and just give up. LOOOOOZERS (even if brushless is faster).
I just love the smell of burned plastic when the electro dudes screw up.

With a title like "NITROS SUCK BAD!! WOW, REALLY BAD!!!" it's clear to at least me that he was just trying to pick a fight, which he seems to have succeeded in doing. C'mon people let this POS thread die already. Quit dredging it up!!!

Well, my take on this is that I prefer Nitro in offroad and electric in onroad. I have had both and I must say, that I prefer the Nitro simply because as a die hard race fan (Indy Car, NASCAR) I love the smell of burning fuel. Clean up is a pain in the butt though I have to admit. I do love it. I'm just getting back into the hobby and am torn between the Losi 10 T and the new T-Maxx or Jato. Someone here mentioned technology. The remote start on the 10 T sure is intriguing!!!

my idea is you can divide all nitro drivers into 5 categorys. 1-5 . ill not name how they work. you can do that.

For me, half the fun in my nitro mt2 is the noise & muck & oily crap. Love to tinker with it
Electric cars have no element of drama or occasion, you just flick a switch & off you go. Boring

i don't see how a thread blatantly trying to start a flame war like this can be left to go on for 10 pages, but we can't discuss osama's death and our opinions on related issues.
