Most I found are around $30-$40. This one is under $9.

Am I missing something? I want to put buggy tires on my 2wd Slash.

Hmm, as far as I know, most are rip offs at $30 anyway, they only charge that much because noone else charges less enough haha. Ok lame reasoning, but if these are that cheap, I'd just get them. Looks like they are the right kind.

I'll give them a try after confirming with AKA they will fit (I understand 2wd & 4wd Slash use different sets, and the description doesn't specify). The pieces look different than the other ones I'm used to seeing:http://www.gshobby.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19075

only nuts?

"•Improves the handling of the truck
•Allows for a wider wheel selection
•Front and rear tire adapters"

"these adapters allow the use of standard 1:8 wheels and tires on the Traxxas Slash truck"

I can't figure out how they install by looking at the photo, but the description says:

These adapters come with all necessary pieces for use and include AKA “SureGrip” 17mm nuts to keep the wheels securely on the hubs.

Sounds like it's adapters, and nuts, plus anything else required.  Next visit to my LHS I'll take a closer look and post an update here.

What's the stock hex size on a Slash? 12mm? I don't get why you would want mongo 17mm monster truck wheels on that thing. Maybe I'm missing something here...

Yes, 12 mm. The conversion to 17 mm is a very nice upgrade -you can run buggy wheels which have less or none "balloning" as they are a lot stiffer compared to the stock 2,2/2,8-wheels, and there is a vast collection to choose from in wheels in 1/8-size. They also have about the same outside diameter as the stock ones. Nothing but advantages with the conversion in my opinion. And you can get a set of 4 preglued wheels from $15 and up.

Yes, but you can get tons of buggy wheels at 12mm. 12mm is the standard hex size for buggies (1/10 anyway).

Unless you mean specifically 1/8 buggies, which is different of course.

If you buy those you will not get the adapters it's just the nuts and shims that hold them on. Look at the what's included at the bottom of the page. I know because I just bought the aka adapters. If you want a better price go to stormerhobbies.

Anyone know AKA's website? I'll clear it up with them because their description and photo is very misleading.
I just can't find their website ???
