Status: offline 		has anybody else weighted their jet by just placing it on a scale for the front nose to be 1 1/2 pounds? i like this idea just dont know  if i sould do cg also, im coming in at 1.8 pds but im gonna move my ecu battery, just really dont want to because i dont have the room

I did and I have 21 flights on my plane. the last two flights I had to move the 2 x 2200 LiFe batteries around 10 cm forward because I couldn't put them back in their original location in the field (and I had no time to try hard ) and man I am glad I did that, it flies much better now. So my advise is to level all gears (the nose being on the scale) and place everything inside for the scale to read slightly over 1.5 lbs.

Status: offline 		If you are going to reinforce these areas I would recommend using chopped glass fibre rather than micro ballons, much stronger for a over 15lb turbine.

Agreed, micro ballons are just filler and don't add strength. Glass fiber on the other hand does add strength.

A better way is to cut a wooden block to just fit into the space below the t-nut and drill a hole in it for the bolt to go through, epoxy it in place and sand it even with the bottom of the boom. That's how I did mine. Besides adding more strength that will also prevent damage if you over tighten the boom bolts. A friend lost his Falcon 120 right after tightening the bolts. The post mortem revealed that he had cracked the small piece of plywood that the t-nut is mounted on.

Status: offline 		That was a standard thing to do on the Falcon 120, I even had to do it on the smaller Bobcat, I'm surprised this was still the same setup as it was always a weak point, I added extra pieces of wood on mine as well.

Status: offline 		This is not a weak point or a flaw. We reinforced this area enough. The reason I put this addendum out is because after 280 flights on my factory demo. That we take to all the shows and everybody flies a beats up with snap rolls and high G turns at full throttle came loose on the inspection I did after this weekends fun. All I suggest is making sure it is glued properly that's all. Please all wanting to re-engineer an airplane that they don't have I ask you to please keep your comments to your self. We have sold over 450 kits this year and brought over 200 new jet pilots to our club of turbine pilots around the world. So for the sake of those who don't have much building experience let's keep this simple. The next models will be taken care of in a totally new way so let's keep this simple for the new guys thanks.

Status: offline 		Henry you are just unbelievable at times, all any of us have said is what we had already done to fix the problem, check out the Falcon 120 and nitro planes bobcat threads, there are lots of posts and pictures with exactly the same potential problem, because the ply plate that holds the captive nut, locates into the booms the exact same way, then obviously the fix is the same.

Status: offline 		Actually it is different but I am not here to discuss how. All your ideas are great and will do the job.  The addendum only requires you to add extra glue and thats all but if you want to go above and beyond thats is upto the builder.

Status: offline 		Sir you can do as your wish with your model, but like I have mentioned in the addendum, YOU HAVE TO GLUE the STAB. It's not optional if you choose not to do that then it's your responsibility if you loose your plane. We will not help in anyway. The airplane structurally is made to be built the way the instructions say.  We have tested it thoroughly and I suggest you built it the way we say.

Status: offline 		This past weekend I witness a maiden of a first batch Tornado. What a great plane for the money, it was powered by a JC Bee and it has more than enough power. I want one for christmas, but now with the Hurricane coming, I don't know what to do .
