My Tornado arrived today. I had originally ordered the red & white one but was then told they were out of stock, so I had to settle for the grey & orange. I'll be repainting & recovering.

I use a nail file as shown.

I slide it down between the side frame & trunion then lever the sliding bar along using the plastic end of the cylinder as the fulcrum. - John.

Hi,

I've got a spare Jetcat P80SE - I know its more than 18lbs thrust, but since its only 2 ounces heavier than a Kingtech K80 would it be suitable if I dialed it down to 18lbs?

I know it wouldn't be the turbine of choice for this airframe, but would it fit? would it be too heavy? etc..

Thanks

David Bevan

Weight wise no problem
Thrust wise FANTASTIC
Dimensions ?????? that would need to be compared to K-80

Tried your method but couldn't slide it in to find the spot so I filled the air supply, retracted the gear, taped the retracts in place with blue masking tape and then disconnected the quick connects. Tape is holding them closed. Not sure how healthy it is for the springs to keep them in that position over time.

True. But I have a friend of a friend that does those really cool vinyl wraps for cars, motorcycles, jetskies etc and I think he is kind of excited with the thought of testing his product on a jet

When i used to use Spring-Air's back in the day,

After the last flight, I would put the plane on stand, retract the gear, zip-tie the strut to the cyl/frame assy., and pack it in the van. Then cut the zip-tie's once home, then repeat the process to go back to the field.

For people using the k-80, is throttle management necessary on this?  I know the falcon 120 needs to be babied a bith with a 19lb turbine but wasnt sure if this one could take all teh k-80 and dish out.

12 3/4 works fine, it depends on your flying style if you need to adjust it.

Thank You, I will use that for starters. Also, Thanks to the guys who posted pics of their motor mount ideas. I used the one supplied, had to modify it a little but my engine fits like a glove.

Can anyone tell me or recommend a can of orange paint that matches the tornados orange color? Mine came with a mis-matched red canopy and I need to paint it orange to match the plane.
