Status: offline 		This is a minor point, but after looking at the picture in post #165 I am reminded of one of my pet peeves after building several ARF's. Rather than pre-cutting openings in equipment trays, why don't they just leave them blank? Each time I ended up removing and throwing away the supplied equipment tray then making my own to accommodate the desired layout for my chosen servo sizes, switches, valves, propane can, etc.

Every set-up is different. It also seems it would be cheaper for the manufacturer to supply a solid piece of plywood and let the customer cut it out to fit his needs. I'm not trying to be picayune here; I just don't understand the wisdom behind what manufacturers typically do.

Status: offline 		I agree with you but what you what you might not realize is that not every body has the machinery or the talent to make this up on there own.  What seems simple to you can be very difficult for others.  I have to make the ARF for the average person with average equipment, and not for somebody that like to re-design there own thing.  We have over 80 people on the list for this plane 10 of them are having us build it and test fly it form them and give them an airplane ready to go.  So I am sorry if this causes any headache for you.

This is the mod I did to my Reaction ARF X so the wing would not go BOOM in flight, also taped the LE per the directive, but that's another story

Status: offline 		The wheel well is open but there are to many obstructions in the way.  The 2 5/8 main wheel for the kit takes up a lot of the space so not to much air goes any were.

No, Henry, it doesn't cause me any headache. I was just wondering why the ARF manufacturers choose to do it that way. As I look at various build threads for a particular plane it seems that no two are laid out the same. This is because everyone who's been in this hobby for very long has their favorite equipment and favorite way of doing things.

There's nothing complicated about cutting a couple of holes in a piece of plywood. Anyone putting one of these together should have a drill and a saw at their disposal, and if they can't handle that then there is no way I'd trust them to connect control surfaces, plumb a fuel system, install radio equipment, etc. I guess I'm thinking of the guy putting the plane together, not the guy who needs to hire someone else to do it for him.

I wasn't trying to be critical. I understand that you are trying to keep it simple for a beginner. You have the right product at the right time, and the right price. I've got about 200 flights on a Falcon 120. If anything happens to it I'll probably be ordering a Tornado.

Any chance that the kit can come pre-hinged for those that require it ?

Whilst I have built many kits with success I would have to say that hinging is my least favourite job during the build.

Status: offline 		We have 4 builders on staff that can perform any work that is needed for prices please contact me directly.  As for parts for the Falcon we are in now way associated to the Falcon 120 so we can not supply parts for that airplane.

Status: offline 		I understand the plane looks like the FALCON 120, but I have mentioned several times THIS AIRPLANE IS DIFFERENT STRUCTURALLY.  We construct the kit in our factory in Ecuador and final assembly is accomplished in South Florida.  Every single kit is inspected before it leaves our warehouse for any defects.  Like in any mass production of products there are always some that have blemishes or defects, we stand behind our product and do our best to keep that down to a minimum.  That is why we have people that go through every kit before it is shipped to insure that they are ok before it leaves our warehouse.  We are stocking a full line of spar parts, covering and hardware to try to give the best customer service to our clients. I have attached a few picture of the airplane before it gets painted and covered for you to see the quality of our work.

Can you get a full 90deg deflection of the flap to act as an airbrake? don't take this personally, but before you say it does not need it, on the field I fly from LOL I do, combined with reflexed up ailerons it gives me a steep approuch onto our very short patch over the trees.

Status: offline 		HAHAHA LOL that was a good one.  Actually yes you can get a full 90 degrees but you will have to use Robart Hinges instead of the Plastic with pin type that comes with the kit.  Then you can get very close to full 90.  It takes a little bit of rigging since the they are designed to be flaps not speed brakes but it can definitely can be done.  Hope that helps

Exactly what I did on the Falcon, plus swaped the flaps from one side to the other and turned them up side down to get rid of the taper on the LE.

We have several request for pricing for building services for the TORNADO there are as follows. 
 
A/C fully hinged:  $50.00 plus prices of airplane
 
A/C fully assembled and flight tested:  $500 plus cost of airplane and equipment 
 
Customs paint scheme:  $500 includes painted fuselage and monokote wings,booms and stabilizer plus price of airplane. Fully glassed and painted airplanes also available for $800 plus the coast of this aircraft

Please clarify. Fully glassed and painted airplanes for $800. Is that $800 and then the price of the aircraft as well? Or $800 all up? When you say fully painted do you mean in a scheme such as Diamondback or whatever or just a basic color pattern.

Also with the fully glassed wings, what is the maximum thrust turbine we would be able to put on the plane? I am very blown away at how accommodating you guys are being about this aircraft.

Status: offline 		I am sorry that was a little vague,  It is $800 plus the cost of the airframe.  That is for a custom paint job and fully glassed airplane.  hope that clarifies this up for you. Also turbine is still the same, if you go with the fully glassed airplane it does add a little weight so a P70 or similar would be the perfect match
