I know a guy that got a jet Ranger really cheap at a Govt auction. Anyone know how to find out about those auctions? I have been away for long enough that I don't have any contacts in the industry any more.

Thanks.

I have some fed buds who might shed some light. Any idea how cheap it went for?
I've read about an Apache a guy built out of surplus parts, the mil & fed guys gave him a hard time about certifying but relented.
Let me know how & where he's certifying it & if his feds are helpful. The Detroit guys I work with are great, very helpful.
Good to hear he got a deal!
Ed

i don't know what he paid, but I know that a slurry bomber company here pays about 20 grand for the P2V neptunes they buy. Jet rangers have to be cheap

I'll do some asking. A local company, Construction Helicopters, does some business out your way during the season.

The S-58T is a CH ship. When they buy one or do major maintenance, they take the bird right down to a shell & go over everything. The Huey I ran across in Kansas, bought by a well-off enthusiast who has a good-sized maint. facility that does stuff like the Huey during slow periods. Must be nice...
