Well I got some up on the last post.

Here are a couple more, cutting some holes for the retracts and installing the spars. Also the ply parts that were installed in the earlier pics. Mostly 7 ply and 9 ply birch.

Making the retract gear boxes now and fitting in the gear.   I used blind nuts on the back of the 9 ply retract mount plates for 4/40 bolts and used some thick CA to hold them in place.

I'm just mixing up some epoxy resin with cabosil to make a light paste to coat the holes of the spars and the retract boxes that I made. I press them in until they are flush with the surface of the foam then using a credit card smear off the excess and let dry for a few hours.

Hello everyone I've been away from posting for a while, building orders, molds etc. keeps me swamped. I know, I'll admit it, I'm guilty, I also have been working on building some of my own planes.
This is the latest molds of the Tiger Tail III that I just completed. I included the vertical stab in this mold. The original did not have it.

Working on a Banshee and some others that I will announce very soon.

Is the Banshee taken off of the fiberglass kits from back then or a built up wood kit?

Don,

Is the Aurora cast for plug-in wings or single piece like the MK kit?

You will recall that topic was discussed a year ago or so?

I'm making it like the MK plan for a one piece wing. I really see no need for a two piece wing and the weight of a tube it isn't that large of a plane. If it were a 2 meter or larger it might make sense to have a two piece wing for most.

Don,
Will you have the option to have formers and deck pre-installed on the Aurora like how you do for the Arrow?
Looking forward to you new release!
Matt

I have the templates for all the kits. I can cut out the firewall or what ever you need for any kit, just let me know. If you want it installed I can do that also, no problem. I have plenty of 7 ply etc.to make them. I just did a build on a Tipo 750 for a Customer to the point he requested. I really do need to list more on my PDF that I send out. I'm working on my website and it will have a lot more information about services offered and more on each model.

Hey Guys here is where I'm at with new kits coming out. For all of you that have pre paid it will be very soon. Weather is looking very good for making new molds and I've got five plugs ready now.

They are The Banshee, Miss Beetle, Aurora 60, Citation 60, and the Mach I

Here are a few Pictures of the three plugs  that had to be made.

 Thanks Chuck, I can't wait.

Well Boys I got my first NEW SPEED R61 with the 9mm adjustable high speed needle. Looks like at least one of my new Classic pattern planes will be going Ballistic very soon! Looks Fantastic Leo!
The two different Headers look great! Between the two I think I will have a good fit in all the models I am building.
I took some pictures so everyone could see the kid on the block!

Glad you like it. Thank you for posting the pictures. I am looking forward to my Mach 1 and Aurora 60. The plugs look great. Let me know when you are ready for more engines.

frequent flyer,
I hade the old version of the Rossi 61 FI RE (rear exhaust) with Rossi original pipe and with servo adjustable needle in a Mach 1 with glass fuselage back in 1970th. The pipe was through/inside the canopy and had exit nice behind the windshield (just painted). It was the fastest pattern plane I had. Retracts of course (Carl Goldberg) and US radio (EK logictrol super pro). That Mach 1 I had was a club project where we had a plug and made many glass fuselages for members in the club that wanted to build a Mach 1, that was one of the hottests pattern plane at that time. I know at least 5 Mach 1 was made ready (foam wing+stab) and was flown from this small "factory".
That new Novarossi 61 RE seems to be very nice, that engine in Your new Mach 1 glass short kit would be a sight - it would burn a hole in the sky.

/Bo

I was just at Don's to pick up my new guitar and amp, so I had time to peruse his handiwork. Don's new plugs are perfection. He's spending a ton of time on them and the surfaces are very smooth and without blemish. The shapes of these models are just fabulous. The Aurora and Mach 1 are pretty planes and are designs I was familiar with, but the Citation I am not familiar with at all. Very good looking, and one many will probably want in their collection of pipe in cowling Classic Pattern jobs. An early 80's Yoshioka design, it did very well at the 1981 Worlds. Elegant ship.
