This disarmament scare is INSANE!!! I'm looking for one of the most common rounds, as another day at the range has expended all of my 12 Ga rounds. So, I begin my quest. Checked 3 ammunition retailers in my area. Nothing. Cheaperthandirt.com? Right. Over half the inventory is "Out of Stock" or "Back Order", and what's left is 95% junk that I wouldn't pump thruough a MOSSBERG! Let alone my sweet little Remington.

There really is no point to this post, other than to call to attention how ridiculous this is getting! I don't buy much, I have a 5+1 so I keep 18 on standby for the house, and we usually only take about a standard plastic grocery bag full to the range, but I find it hard to believe that so many places near me don't even have enough 3" 12 Ga. rounds to fill said bag!

They only let me buy 5 boxes of primers the other day.

Yesterday I got in a Lee 50cal. mold for my Hawken rifle.

Going to cast some 50's today!

Most major stores here are out of common calibers (9mm/.223? fa'gettaboutit!!) or holding back ammo at Customer Service doling it out one per caliber box each for purchase. Keeps the local Mom/Pops and other entrepenuers from buying it up and gouging everyone else [bastuds!]. Thats what what happen when the first time our current Prez was elected. While at the local Gstore the other day the conversation between the overwhelmed sales rep and customer went like this; "Does this .357 Airlite have a lotta kick?" , "Nope,,,", "I'll take it!" . Didnt seem to care or to give any decent advise just made the sale so they could get to the next customer.

BTW,,,yes that NAA .22 Short is LOUD(!!!),,,kind'a took me by suprise. Precision,,,if you can call it that was,,,meh(?), it actually improved as I learned to hold it correctly-ish and used the pad behind my first joint to pull the trigger rather than my finger tip pad,,,or whatever you call that part. It eventually (25rnd later) became "minute of milk jug" at 10ft. I only brought one box of crappy old ammo and forgot the CCI 100 pack at home so there coud have been more improvement. My hand was black from the powder residue but all in all it was alot of fun to shoot.

Funny thing,,,being SO SMALL it not hard to forget what pocket its in, especially wearing cargo shorts and pants. On a few occassions I've actually had to rummage thru my pockets thinking "oookaaayy,,,,theres my cell,,, keys,,,, wallet,,,,,Hmm,hmm, hmm,,, pack of gum,,,Oh(!),,,, there its is!".

i wouldnt mind a 1911. i wouldnt carry it often, if ever, but it would be cool to pull out once in a while and blow up some milk jugs and whatnot. when i turn 21, the first handgun i plan to buy is either a Springfield xdm 9mm or a haritage .22 revolver. i want the Springfield for carry (open at first, until i get my cpl) and i want the heritage (either 9" 6 round or 4.75" 9 round) as it would go well with my henry. the real deciding factors will be finances and availability. if i just so happen to have enough, and can find both locally, i might just get 2 permits to perchase (stupid MI laws... well, at least we can still have 25 round baby killer mags. i still have never seen a high capacity clip though...).

finally get lead to make my ammo, have the shells, have the lead, have the powder but guess what? NO PRIMERS!!!

yah my fave store that usually has 80 guns on display only had maybe 8 or 9 left!

One of two things are going on with the primers/ammo, 1- the scare of disarment is causing the demand to shoot up and they are unable to keep up or 2 (and this is the one i'm afraid of) Ammunition manufactures are forced to make ammo with degrading primers, by doing this they have a short shelf life making people unable to "hoard" ammo- and that is a cause for warning for us the people, it means big brother is afraid of us.

Yeah lerned my lesson a few years ago with the last primer scare. You guys see all those"buy gold now!" commercials? Well instead of buying a $1,600 gold coin, buy $1,600 in brass, bullets, powder, and primers.

Some people say, "But what if they ban the possession of ammo/componits?" To that I say what if they Re-ban your gold.

Nice, how you like shooting those little zippers?

Got into an argument at the range over this caliber. They wouldn't let me shoot my Contender with a 10" .22 Hornet barrel but they let people shoot these. They have the same ballistics!

Yay! I finally got 203 points with 30 arrows on a normal competition target! And, the same day, my friend robin-hooded 2 arrows and it was insane!

It's the club's bow. I'll try to get a pic of it this Saturday. Its a recurve with a pin sight called the Ragim Victory. Heres a generic picture of it on eBay;

Beautiful Five-Seven. If i had the money, i would probably own one as well. Now you just need a P90 . My bro just got an FN .45 tactical. Love that gun. Has the 15 round mag, threaded barrell, and is the camo green version. He plans on getting a suppressor for it in the near future. He also bought a Trijicon Holographic sight for it. You guys are making me jealous. All i have personally is a Bersa .380 and Mossberg 12ga pump....

^^^ Thanks, yes I'm a huge fan of this gun it's actually my first composite frame gun, as everything else I own is stainless steel. I'm looking at the FN 45 as well and might pick one up a little later down the line. My next purchase will actually be S&W 1911 performance center. I actually have a SS fetish.

Have you looked into the Sig .45's? One of the better composite guns on the market, IMO, near the top of my list of future purchases, actually! Along with the Springfield XD45, another very nice one! Just steer clear of Glock for the love of .....cheese!
