Thats sweet Slayer! Prob right in a backyard eh?

I do live somewhat in town, but anyways I was out the other day with a .22cal PELLET gun, In the back yard shooting cigerette buts off the back deck... And some smartass called the cops on Me, '' The cops words were ''A neighbor was shocked to see You with a large rifle shooting in Your backyard and was so frightened they called Us, We almost called in the tactical unit to fallow Us in'', I said is this a joke? it's a PELLET GUN! This thing can barely kill a rabbit, Maybe with a VERY well placed shot!.. So I showed Him the gun and He just shook His head and told Me that even though it's a pellet gun, You can't fire it off in Your backyard in town, He said He could take My other firearms away and revoke all My hunting license's, But thank god He was understanding and realized I had no idea it wasn't aloud, So a slap on the wrist for Me!

This is a pic of it, neat LITTLE ( not a large rifle! ) Pump .22cal single shot, ''bolt action'' made by Crossman

i dont live in town but i do live in what could be considered a residential area. i checked all the zoning and legal mumbo jumbo i could find and what little i could under stand (i think the clerks that type these up are required to be drunk and the people that word them are too.) i have the legal right to shoot on my property (or, rather, my grandpa's property). i kind of want a .22 air rifle, specifically the crosman tac 1 and the gamo hunter extreme.

My nephew acquired a .338 magnum Talk about a cannon. Preferred gun for elk, moose, bear, and African safaris. Thing kicks like three mules. If anyone here has ever shot one chime in.
My first shot was a target at 150 yds. " BOOM" OMG lots of cuss words and a sore shoulder. Second one was { yes I am addicted to pain} at a gallon jug of water, " BOOM" gun kicked and scope hit my eye. Not to bad but it hurt, There are stories out there of people getting black eyes and broken nose bridges from the scope on these rifles. Oh, and the jug exploded, but I didnt see it except on a video because I had a scope in my eye.

Slayer, The M4 Bushmaster has to be My ALL TIME favorite rifle!!! And AK is right behind it, But fat chance for Me ever getting to fire either of them in Canada, Unless I join the military! lol

save up some money and come on down to the US, you can go shoot fully automatic machine guns if you want, Knob Creek Kentucky is coming up at the end of december but no one around here wants to spend the money. We used to all go to the shoot in Red Wing Minnesota but they stopped in 2008 and never got organized again.

Not that anyone would do it but its pretty easy to make a sks burp out all 20 rounds at once, I hate them for shooting but burping is kinda fun

Red: Haha Im pretty happy where Im at with height and weight. I used to fight, same as i used to MX but my bodys just gettin beaten up too much from too many breaks and fractures lol I can still swing and grapple with the best of em and I got that reach and speed too.

And to the guy who used to have the H&R break barrel, yea, it kicks like a mule but I LOVE that gun, Im very into simple weapons, suprised I even own my Kimber lol My H&R has pistol sights welded to it tho, pretty good up to like 35-45 yards in the woods, with slugs you can make a pretty good grouping and thanks to Ohios laws all I CAN use is slugs, I prefer Remington 1 Oz rifled

I hear that, wife and 4 year old ended all my expensive hobbies, smoking meat and rc is about all I can handle on my $80 a month fun budget, when I was single it was about $800 a month "fun money" as I lived in a crappy trailer with a 60 x 80 building behind it. Worse yet most of the $2500 I always had in case a good deal came along got spent on a vacation in Jamiaca earlier this year, its been miserable trying to get it back up, I am wanting another quad so as soon as I get $2500 it will be spent and I can start again, I guess why thats why there is so much money out there, so we can try and go get it. After the quad a new XDM 40 pistol and then a nice rifle(BAR-Garande-308 ranch rifle or AR clone) is on my must have list, gotta get it done by 12-21-12 as the 357 and 12 guages ain't gonna do for Armagedon LOL.

nope, the only 2 scopes i own are the cheap ones that came with a couple of my daisy air rifles.

how do you guys clean your guns? i mean, do you use the rod with the heads or a bore snake? im havin a hell of a time with this rod because the brush i got today doesnt fit so o think i'll save a few $ in the not-so long run and get a snake. also, can i use wd40 instead of oil for the barrel? that gun oil is pricey.

the cleaning Q was about my .22lr. the threading on the new brush doesnt match the threads in the rod. the old brush is in decent condition so with cleaner ammo i shouldnt have a problem any time soon.

i would get a set for cleaning your .22 ! (so the threads match on the rod and ends )
rod and brush and patch end all sold together , relitive cheap ( less than twenty)
i ALWAYS use gun solvent (hoppes brand) and brush first, then a patch or two , then a new patch , with some oil on it ( 3 in one oil will do )
the solvent will break down the residue , that wont be removed other wise .
some ammo is MUCH cleaner than others ,so cleaning is not needed as often .

rimfire ammo is dirtier than centerfire ammo regardless so u should clean after every time you shoot-whether its rimfire or not

The BEST thing hands down to clean a barrel is a Barrel Snake... just spray some solvent on it, then run it through the barrel a few times. It also cleans ramps really well when you pull it down through the mag well. You need one for each caliber. Rimfire ammo is not dirtier, hands down the dirtiest would be 45LC, which is black powder centerfire. I always laugh at those cowboy action nerds who never clean their guns. My centerfire guns get dirtier A LOT faster than any of my rimfire stuff (22 and 17HMR). The 17HRM still looks clean after a thousand rounds. Do not use oil as a solvent, firing a round through an oily barrel is probably one of the worst things you can do to a gun (besides ball and cap or shotguns, which require it as a cooling aid).

i picked up a barrel snake today. i still dont have any solvent but i think i am over cleaning anyways (once every 10-30 rounds. i have only put MAYBE 70 through it so far). i also picked up some more cci blazers (because they where on sale for $1.49, regular being $2.69) and a new case (because it was on sale as well for $10. the one i found it in was a soft case that had been chewed by mice). after 10 rounds the barrel had a nice lead and powder deposit so i tried the BS and as the end of it passed through it was squeaking. when i get some more money i will pick up a box of shells and a 20GA snake.

Nice thread, just a friendly reminder to adhere to all forum rules. If you guys start bickering, or the discussion of guns becomes inappropriate, I will remove the thread.

Otherwise, continue

what kinda scope is on the 7?-i gotta 243 and im not sure if it matters what kinda scope i got, gettin the 243 out to 1000 yds would be a trick-but thats not what i bought it for-thats what i got the 308 for, but i dont have the scope yet-want a Nightforce 3.5-15x50 NXS-the scope on the 243 is a Leupold 3-9x40 and is a very solid scope but it only has 27 MOA of adjustment and i cant get out that far-i could put a set of 20MOA bases on it and probably come close but it doesnt have tac turrets on it so it would be a waste of time to me-ill just wait till i have the 110 MOA Nightforce set up on a 308 before i try somethin that far-the place i shoot is 1600 yds x 900 yards-dont think ill ever have the horsepower to shoot 1600 yds so i atta be good for life just about!
