what is the color on the bottom of the fuse? In the picture it looks blue, on the color map it shows as black.

I flew my plane today in about 15 mph wind, for about 4 minutes. Which was probably the longest four minutes of my life. The plane was acting really funny about 2 minutes into the flight. I brought it in for a closer look and was shocked to see the right wing aileron fluttering really bad. I made a slow pass and was afraid to speed up as the flutter would het worse. I also had no rutty aileron. I decided to do a left turn at the end of our field, with left aileron and rudder. I got it back to the other end of the runway made another left turn, and came in for a final approach and touched it down nice and softly.

When I went over to inspect the airplane I noticed that the 2-56 screw that attached the aileron to the horn was gone. Just so we are clear I am not blaming Krill, as this was clearly my mistake. I did not use lock nuts, I used regular 2-56 bolts with thread lock. I will never do that again. Went to Hobbytown after the incident and bought 8 lock nuts for every moving surface.

Hope you guys learn from my almost misfortune. ALWAYS USE LOCK NUTS!!!!!!!

Even though I did have a short time with the airplane in the sky, it seems to fly very well. Seeing the curved wings in the air will take some getting used to. Hope to have a better flight report soon

A couple of pictures of the new TWT scheme. I have owned a Spark for a couple of years and the new EVO seems to be better built and a lot lighter (I had one of the very first Sparks).
The bottom is very thin and I normally pick my Pattern ship up by the fuselage, not the wings, so I will need to reinforce the bottom with a light Depron/carbon former.
In one of the photos you can see the new size of the ailerons, which helps the snaps.
I loved my old Spark which served me well for three years, and I cant wait to get my new baby in the air.

Andrew congrats on your placing in the Worlds, I will be watching, if you need any information on the venue or SA before you come out, please dont hesitate to ask.

Cheers Neil.

Lucky you! Lost my new (10 flights) Valiant earlier this season for exactly this reason! I had no flutter but the aileron locked in extreme position so I couldn't stop it spiralling.

can you show a picture of how the horn is bolted to the aileron? I figured machine screws would have been used.

Hi Rune,

Do you have the Spark EVO or Spark Dynamic? I ask because I think the EVO comes with a glass/carbon canopy as standard now. The Dynamic comes with a poly carbonate canopy as standard.

I ordered my Spark Dynamic with a carbon canopy specifically. I think it looks better and is a little lighter too. My carbon canopy weights 138 grams.

Regards,
Jason.

Hi Jason
then I must have the Dynamic...light blue polycarbonate...I put it on the weight and see how big diffrence we have so maybe I can save some few gr.
My canopy weighs 211 gr so I see some potential here!!
