Status: online 		Dave, that a great way to rear mount the motor. Did it add much weight doing it that way. I have Himax 210 that needs a home, may have to borrow that way of mounting it to the Evo1. now if I can get Todd Schmidt to finish my Mystic for me I should be all set for next year

Status: offline 		The mounting is slightly more than a firewall only, the carbon plate can be reduced from what's shown to an X shape and the 1/4" lite ply can be reduced also to save some weight.

Status: offline 		I was asked in a pm for the firewall template but cannot find it, but here are several pictures of how I make formers and a PDF of the carbon plate. I used two layers of 1/16" carbon plate epoxied together to make the X plate that mounts to the motor and firewall. The temporary formers are glued together from small pieces of 1/8" or 1/16" balsa, after the general shape is made this can be traced to make a slightly oversized former that should fit with some sanding. I hope this helps.

Status: offline 		Just finished the firewall CAD drawing and CNC cut for the firewall in my Spark Evo. I am using a Himax 6330-210 (same firewall dimensions as Pletty 30-10). The nose ring is large enough for the motor to slide in from the front. Firewall is 1/8" end grain balsa/carbon laminate. See pix below.

My firewall is set to add about a degree of right thrust and half degree of downthrust. My Evo has no right or down in the nose ring relative to the wing/steb setup.

Status: offline 		Here is a file (dxf) for the Evo firewall. You will need to rename it from .txt to .dxf after you down load it. It is drawn slightly oversize on the outside dimensions to allow final fit/taper, etc.

Status: online 		On the Spark Dynamic there are dimples on the fuse side to mark the wing zero point. I assume the EVO has the same thing. The stab and motor can be referenced from this point.

I still feel this question was not really answered. I am very much looking for this feedback. I found the Dynamic a great airplane with fantastic snaps and great flying. I am thinking about buying another one but the Evo is beautiful as well. However, it is the flying that is most important in the end. No plane is perfect of course so some honest feedback would be great.

Status: offline 		Quick question about the rudder horn location on the Spark Evo. All the pictures I see show the rudder horn about half way up the rudder. There is a half rib in that location but no block. There is a block in the bottom of the rudder which seems a strange place to put the horn, gets a little crowded down there with elevator linkage, tail wheel, etc.

Those of you that have built the Evo, where did you put the rudder horns? If you put them near the center of the rudder vertically, did you add a block somehow?

                 i mounted my horn on the centre rib as you said earlier i added some small carbon inserts when i put the horns in , i will post pics of my build if you
 like as there is very little info on installation etc , my model was in white ,now painted ! ( 50 hours)  so the model is of to be clear coated monday.
