Status: offline 		The royal cessna 310Q kits ALL had the non scale main wing and non scale horizontal stab.
However, on the plans it provides the OUTLINE for you to choose which wing to use.
They never offered a SCALE WING separate.

Status: offline 		Hi Guys, I plan on getting back to the airplane projects soon.The Baron and 310R planes.I have the 310 fuselage ready to mold,and plan on doing that soon.I have been finishing up on a submarine project,so I can get back to the 310R.Also had a few health issues,and that is better.I want to keep these threads alive if possible,and I will try to post more often. Status: offline 		Its been awhile since I posted on the 310 project.Last month I worked the fuseloge mold building in my spare time.since I toke these pictures I have taken the molds off of the plug,and the molds came out perfect.I will post these pictures soon.The pictures tonight will give you guys a idea of what the molds look like.Next will be laying a fiberglass fuseloge from the molds.I hope to do this in a next couple of weeks. untell later,Dennis.

Status: offline 		I built the OLD Royal 310Q. Only  had one wing plan and no wing tanks on the plan.
Instructions called for building the engine nacells while holding the wing on your lap.
I thought it was crazy but I did as the instructions said.....They are both perfect.
My plane is VERY NOSE HEAVY.
I have two fox 36 engines on it and it flies as fast as the devil.
My plans called for two 60 size engines.........rediculous.
This gives you an Idea of  how old the kit was. Some 60 size engines didn't have much power then.
I was a hobby shop owner and worked with Royal selling anything that they came up with....Really liked the Royal engines.
Built several of their kits too.
Maybe this doesn't quite fit the thread, but I am glad that they have come up with a better set of plans.
I like your glass fuselage..........

Status: offline 		Sebo,That had to be a very early set of plans that you had.I know after starting this thread people have posted on how Royal made several different set of plans on the 310 alone.I just got into the rc airplanes a few years back,and also liked the looks of the Royal kits.Building the nacells on a persons lap would be a real challenge! On my fiberglass 310Q I had to add weight to the nose,to balance the plane.Total weight was around 13 pounds.Thanks for posting about your 310 project,and if you have any pictures,It would be interesting to see them.

Status: offline 		I've been building and flying since the 1970's. This truely was one of the first 310's that they put out....Had a pretty color scheme. It was and is my only twin.
Building it was a labor of love. It's in mothballs now. Hasn't flown in over 20 years. No damage to it and it still looks nice.
I'll look for a picture or pull it out of mothballs for a picture.

Status: offline 		Airwalk, it is great to see you back on the project. The molds look great (in the pictures). Can't wait to see the end results. Just curious, would your mold of the wing and engine nacelles work on the "Q" version? I know the engine nacelle on the "R" are different from the "Q" on the real aircraft but was just curious. In real life I fly a 73 "Q" version and was considering having a r/c model but your "R" is definity worth looking into. Keep up the great work and can't wait for your next step. Status: offline 		Hi guys,Sebo thanks for posting the picture. Your plane looks fanastic,for a 20 year old plane! By looking at the picture could that be the Royal Baron that you have? I allways like the Baron because of its great design.Either way its a beautifull plane!I really like the paint design on the plane.The retracts really add scale looks to any plane when in the air.What was the total weight of the plane,when it was finished? EWRT you asked about the wing and nacelles working on your Q model.Of course the old molds of the wing and nacelles will work great.The new R wing and nacelles would also work,but the fuseloge wing saddle would have to be changed some what for the Q as the new wing is not as wide.The new engine nacelles will be a little smaller also,to be in scale with the plane.I will try and take a few pictures of the molds this afternoon.Talk later Dennis.

Status: offline 		A few days back I had some spare time to layup a new 310R fuselage,over the weekend.It toke some time to figure out on what weight of fiberglass cloth to use.A thicken batch of epoxy resin was brushed in the mold first to act as a gel-cote,for a smooth finish.after two days the new 310 layup was removed,from the molds.A very light and strong shell was made. Next will be cutting out the front nose baggage door area,along with the main door,and rear baggage door.These door areas will be made to open up with working hinges. I,ll post more pictures as I move along with this project.

Status: offline 		Awhile back I layed up the 310R fuseloge from the molds.All of the doors that were found on a real 310 that moved,I did the same on mine.Robart hinges,were used on the front nose baggage door and enter door.I use the flat style hinges for the rear baggage door.I still have to work on the doors to fine tune them.I have been working on this project a little bit at a tme.Anyway here is almost complete fibergass fuseloge.The tail section is the next part to work on.I,ll post some more pictures as I work on the next step,

Status: offline 		Well it seems that the summer is going fast,and with less time to get things done. I have not done much on the the 310 project,but did get a few things done as time allowed.I made a mold for the rear stabilizers,then pulled out two fiberglass stabilizers to mount on the plane.Another picture shows the fuselage to wing flaring installed.The front nose bulkhead was installed,to support the robart retract nose wheel.For the fun of it I put a few strips of black and gold tape to see what the fuseloge would look like with these on.These will be removed later when I paint and detail the body. A resigned windshield was installed,with the more correct windshield front slope. Well so much for now,untell later.

Status: offline 		Heres a few shots of the rear stabilizer molds made,with the plugs still in the molds.For some reason this new computer changes the location of the picture numbers on me,which make it hard to get the correct pictures posted.Anyway lets try it again!
