Sounds good. I'm down here in Florida right now competing in TopGun with the Gotha. I must be out of my mind. The winds were pretty stiff today and I don't think my flight score was too good, but I completed the flight without any mishaps, so I'm happy. It's supposed to be calmer tomorrow.

Yay! It Flys!! ...and real well, too! It is very solid in the air and there is no pitch-sensitivity like I thought there might be with the huge elevator. I added 1 lb. of weight on the firewall but it didn't even need that because it's a little nose-heavy.

On the first flight one of the flying wires came loose, so the flight was cut short. I retightened all the rigging and did two more real nice flights. the only aerobatics I tried on the third flight was a loop, and it did it nicely. It slows down real well on landings.

The only issue I had was the ailerons twitching when the engine was running at low RPMs. There are 4 servos in the wings for the ailerons and three Y- connectors to hook them all together. I suspect the ignition module is causing it, but I'm not sure.

Thanks, guys!

You were right on, Dave. It didn't really need any nose weight! I'm going to leave it the way it is until I put a pilot in and the dummy engine.

The CG seems to be correct at 7" back from the LE of the top wing.

On to The Ohio Dawn Patrol!!

Jim

Yes, very nice indeed. They are fun little things, aren't they? I have found a photo of yours, a line up with a D7 and a couple of other SSW's. You won't like it though...

I found the picture you are talking about. Greven's SSW looks to have a dark-colored cowl on it and white wheels. I wonder what color that cowl is? It's in the old Profile publication. Their color plate, though shows a white cowl. I also have a picture from the Windsock datafile that shows a light-colored cowl. I can't tell if the wheels are white or not. Then, I have the Bob Pearson profile that shows lozenge-colored wheels. Three of the sources seem to agree on the white wheels, but I don't know what to think about the cowl.
