Hi,

I am looking for a place or someone that sells a good fiberglass or plastic canopy for my heli. I would prefer to stay away from the thin clear plastic types that I have on it now. Something like the raptor or nexus canopy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Brian

I put the glass canopy from the 46 on mine; looks great, but it required some new frame parts. Plus, I could only find ONE at the dozens of places I called, and MA had to specially pull a windshield for me since those have been long out of stock as well.

If you use the stock front frame plate, you will have to do some substantial mods to the two "ears" to fit a glass canopy without it looking like hell. I'm sure that some the various aftermarket glass canopies out there would fit, but you would probably need one in hand to make sure.

Here's mine...

Here's another angle; I'm really pleased with the way this turned out. It was worth the hassle.

Or you can use a cut down SE canopy. You will have to use and modify the SE mounts.

Allen,

Ya know, I'd forgotten about that already... :-(

He'll still need the 46 front frame plate and other assorted parts in addition to the mount kit.

The 30 comes with a rather strange front frame plate as stock...

Mine just has the 30 front plate with the ears cut off. I put an extra set of the aluminum blocks on the lower front of the front plate, by drilling the threads out and sandwishing the front plate between them. I use the front set to put the SE canopy mounts on, then made an extension to move the top mount back. I can post pictures if needed, but not the ones I sent to you, Steve. I have to turn my digital camera to the lowest resolution and size to post a picture here, so I would have to take some more.

I hear you, re the mod and reducing pixel size on the digital camera. I had to do the same on mine.
