One of my 1.10's puts out a little less power than my others. I have been tinkering with it to see if I can get it up with the others. One thing that has puzzled me is why YS didn't mark the cam or crank so that they line up properly. If you set the dot on the crank at 6:00 the dot on the cam will either be at 11:00 or 1:00. This particular engine has been apart before so I am not sure where the cam should be set. When I took it apart the cam was set at 1:00. Thinking this might be the reason I set it at 11:00. Funny thing is that it runs jusut about the same as it did before. Do any of you know which setting is right? Maybe one tooth doesn't matter but I'd like to get it where YS designed it to be.

Status: offline 		Hi Terry....You may already be aware of this, there is a dot on the crank counter/balance (need to remove backplate to see) that when positioned at 6:00, cam dot then at 12:00....This crank position is just before TDC (yes, I know; why not TDC?)....Anyway at TDC the cam dot will be at 1:00....FWIW

I will change it back to 1:00. Weird thing is that it runs pretty much identical at 11:00as it did before. Maybe one tooth isn't that important.

When I do this and then move the dot on the crank to 6:00, the dot on the cam is at 11:00. With the dot on the crank at 6:00 you cannot set the dot on the cam at 12:00. One tooth is at 11:00 and the next tooth is at 1:00. I'll try talking to Richard today and see what he suggests. I'll report back.

What do you mean by "cam followers"?

If I set the dot on the crank at 6:00 the dot on the cam can not be set to 12:00 or 6:00. It is slightly askew to the right or left. The dot on the cam can only be straight up or down with the crank at true TDC.

Jim....follow the description in post #2.
This was confirmed in post # 3 and now in this post.
That's 3 verifications.....I'll bet the paperwork for the engine will show this as well.
