Hi.
I use the New V7 lights from Flugmodellbau. http://shop.strato.de/epages/15452660.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15452660/Categories/Beleuchtung/%22Nova%20V7%22

I ordered a kit for the Airworld Hawk http://shop.strato.de/epages/15452660.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15452660/Products/500770/SubProducts/500770&ChangeAction=SelectSubProduct
But ask for the new V7 lights. They are the best and brightest IMO.

Great maiden flight Staale, but why were you flying so high all the time?

Fitted the missiles and rails. Great for orientation and could not notice any difference in flying.
Next time, i will try with the drop tanks as well.

This is one great flying airplane

This plane is insanely gorgeous! Has anyone flown the SM Hawk and CARF Hawk? I am curious to know if the fly similar.

I have flown the C-Arf Hawk as well.
Flies great too, but feels different.
The SM hawk flies more scale IMO and feels more massive in the air which is excactly what i like.
The C-ARF Hawk flies lighter and feels more like a sport jet. Looks more like a sport jet also, so depends on what you are after. Bothe are great planes, but different...

Hello,

I have one of these Hawks on order and I have a few questions.
While looking a different build threads, I notice that all the servo arms being used are of the heavy duty nylon type. Are these type arms strong enough for use on a jet ? Or would I be better off with aluminum arms with ball links ?
I plan on using Futaba 9157 Servos all around. Will Dubro Heavy Duty servos arms be what I want to use if I have to use the nylon type arms?

Also, Is there anything to watch out for while building this jet ?

Hey Joe, Look at post 516 and onwards of the following thread... you may want to reconsider the Du Bro arms

I have been flying Hi-Tec servos, I have never had a problem with the heavy duty nylon arm that come with them

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10737329/mpage_21/key_/tm.htm

That's cool your getting a Hawk, you can come to Titusville and fly with me when I get my COMP ARF Hawk done, and Cliff (FLYAWAY) has a older Skymaster Hawk he will be flying also!

Rich,

Thanks for that info.
I was not liking what I was seeing in the build threads showing nylon arms. I prefer the aluminum arms and I even doubled up the control horns in my Tuono to make me feel comfortable. So basicly, I should continue to change or modify whatever I think needs to be done to feel better about linkage hookups.

Also, Your Tittsville event is when ?
Hope to get to fly with you guys some weekend.

I find that ball links are often too big to work with jet applications. My preference is to use SWB aluminum arms with nylon inserts, which allows the arm to be used with thin metal clevises. With that said, I've used nylon arms with jets with no issue. For my 3D/IMAC planesI use aluminum arms because the loads are much greater.

Dantley, got a photo of the inserts and actually the whole setup? As you know, I just went through ALL my jets andd go rid of my DuBro HD arms. Much to my horror, some of the splines that had seen blue-loctite had really worn down and were in critical shape...

With a new SM Hawk 100 build upcoming, it makes sense to try out your approach...or stick with JR HD Nylon arms. But I am curious about the SWB w/nylon inserts.

Can some one give me a list of servo arm lengths I will need for my upcoming Sky Master Hawk build. I would like to get a jump on ordering as what I need.

Thanks Rich!

I wish they had 1/2" and 3/4" arms. I try to get my arms as close to servo as possible so I can ensure the greatest travel and therefore not having to limit my resolution with the ATV/Control Throw settings on my Transmitter. I generally drill into an aluminum arm if it is too long and just make a "new hole" kind of like if your belt is too large or too small.
