Hey guys, I just picked up this old DPI leisure sports tunnel hull, It's in great condition & the K&B engine has very little use on it & appears nearly new. Anyone else have one like this? I can't wait to run her this weekend!

I had 2 of them and loved them but that was years ago. Yours looks to be in great condition.
I let my wife drive mine one day at a lake and after that I had to go shopping for another boat as I lost that one! She did race it for a while then my son got one and he did very well with his as he took a 3rd at his first race out of 13 boats.
I've only got pix of my wifes.

Nice looking paint job! I guess DPI went out of business several years ago but I have found some info online. How did the hull hold up? Just asking because it's some type of plastic & not fiberglass. It looks like it should be fun to play with on the water, hopefully I don't sink it.

It's ABS so it does have some weak spots, mostly around the transom. My wifes boat took a nasty hit when she hit a retrieve boat at a race (long story) and bent up the front of the sponsons. Amazingly I was able to fix them with just a hair dryer! Being mad when I got home I thought that the hull was totalled so I ordered the second one which is the one in the shot above. The "trashed " one I fixed up for the kid and the one that he trophied with.

A little history of the boat. It was designed by our own Jerry Dunlap for DPI including a little trick tried by them. Note the offset canopy as that move the weight over for better handling in the runs during racing. Mine has made wide open throttle turns on a dime and left change. Really nice boats and one of those that regret selling.
I found an overhead shot.

That is a picture of our old 1/4 scale DPI Tunnel we call the "Mule"  during recent testing of our new DPI F1 O/B Lower.

I had 3 of the DPI tunnels many years ago, two of the 3.5's and a 7.5. Also a Shiada, a C-box and later on, a ProBoat Nitro Fury that was made by DPI based on the Shiada River Racer.
