Painting complete. It did not come out as well as my previous paint jobs, but it will work for now.

Haha, looks great Jeff. I bet your getting anxious to get her in the air

If anyone is wondering where the gear to his Lightning went...  I snuck in after Jeff went to bed and swiped it..  Dont tell him though.. It looks great on my Zeus!

Looks good Jeff. Seeing more and more orange's show up on planes than we seen back in the day, it's a nice change. Hartley H. out of Canada has a plane with about the same color that you have on your canopy, looks pretty good. What color is the bottom?

Nice work,
Alan

Some sporadic work the last week. Dad was in town, so he helped out with some monokoting. He also got a flight in on the first Lightning, he can give you the full flight report. Thanks for the help Dad!

Im still trying to figure one thing out here..

How does a guy that grew up in Eugene Oregon...  end up supporting the Beavers'?!?
Well, I guess they do deserve it.. they work hard for what they [dont] have. (no golden spoon from Nike)

Looks Great Jeff. Hope I get to see it fly one day!

The Lightning flies! I got three flights on it today. The initial impressions are very good. I think the tweaks made from the first version all had the intended effects. The snap is a bit snap-ier and the rolling maneuvers have improved as well. It needs some minor trim work and some work on the rates, but I am really happy with it. Here are the pictures:

Nice end result Jeff. Congratulations on a job well done. The plane looks great and after a few "get aquainted" flights, I'm sure you'll have her dialed in and groovin nicely.

You should see it in person!

I'm guessing it weighs 10.5 or less

Thank you to everyone for all of the kind words of support. It is a very good feeling to spend so much time and effort on a project, and then finally get to see it in action.

I got two quick flights in today after work, still dialing in rates, but getting closer.

I just put it on the scale and it weights in at 10 pounds, 0.8 oz, or 4558 grams. This is with F3A Unlimited 4900 batteries, Hacker C50 14XL Comp, Jeti Spin 99 controller, Tru Turn spinner, APC prop, and 900 mAh flight pack.
