Status: offline 		XL-5 is actually the ESC. Its brushed, and the cheapest models they sell come with it.

Brushed 1/16th revo is like $200 too.

I've submerged an RC running traxas electronics out of a XL-5 in salt water before (last winter drove it into a pothole) and they still work (battery didn't survive though)

Status: offline 		The Best waterproof RC Car is the Summit or an E-Maxx. They cost quite a bit, but when you consider what you get and that it's waterproof out of the box, it's really worth it. Just watch the videos on it.

Status: offline 		you can get a evader ext for $110 and get the traxxas electronics. there are also other brands that offer waterproof esc's servos and recivers for next to nothing.
