Did some checking on my stock, found I have 4 Sterling FF kits, two of them double peanut sized kits, 5 RC kits, 2 ship kits, 13 CL kits, and two copies of their Minnie Mambo plans.

Let me know if any one is interested in a Ringmaster 42" profile. I have one available from the original Phila. Sterling models. I'll probably never build the kit anymore and it's a shame.

Does any know if the rumor is true about David Sterling buying the Bud Nosen line from A&A?

My favorite was the Sterling Lancer with a Webra .40 and a Orbit Single Stick radio. Flew that plane for years, it was a great plane with no bad habits. I flew mostly sport, but did have a win in a local Class D Pattern contest. When I quit flying, people were begging to buy it. I sold to some young deserving kid. Today, I wish I would of kept it.

I too built and flew the Lancer by Sterling. I put mine together in 1972 and flew it all that year. It was a very pattern capable model. Mine was powered by a K&B .40 and was controlled by the 1972 Micro Avionics 6-channel, D&R open gimble two stick radio (orange case) on 72.080 MHz. I also flew Orbit radios in that era.

I'm getting ready to build the Piper Vagabond kit K7 and Citabria kit E5 for electric indoor and outdoor flying. I wont paint or cover the Vagabond, well maybe yellow tissue provided.

I hope to adapt the parts for the K7 for laser and offer them for the like minded with the addition of wheel pants and parts and drawings to make it as either a Vagabond, Clipper, Pacer or Family Cruiser or Colt. More research needed to see how many parts will need to added to the kit but in the meantime I may find time to start glueing up the Sterling model over the holidays. I'll keep you posted here.

RC Ringmaster. I remeber when one was offered by sterling. LHS had one for almost two years. Finally went in to buy the thing, just to see another customer walking to his car in the parking lot with it under his arm.

Heard they were decent flyers witha good .40 or .45.

Well I got ahead of myself. No time to build yet while trying to stay caught up on shipping. I do have good news though in that we are now cutting first runs of the Mini Fledgling and Thermic 70 kits.

Bill,

dougshobbyshop has plans and patterns for the Sterling FS-1 Tri Pacer on the "bay". You might try them for the FS-6 and FS-33 plans/patterns, also. Another source for these plans might be the AMA Plans Service.

Bill,

wflawson has the plans and patterns for Sterling kit FS-33 on the Bay. You might check him for a cowl, wheel pants, etc. I have not seen plans advertised for kit FS-6 so far......will keep looking.

My Mini-Fledgling kit is on my list of to-dos. In fact, it has been there since early 2006. Along with the restoration of a Flying Fool and the building of a Viper since 1998. And in 2007, added the building of my S-1, S-1A, and Super Ringmasters. Have several Fox .35s for the profiles, and a couple Veco .35s for the full fuse Super. Undecided about using a Fox .25 or .35 for the Flying Fool. The first FF I had flew the same with either the .19 or .35.

Oh, well, someday I may be able to retire and have time to build.
