I have a JR XP7202 which is a synthesized radio but it does not scan.

I have to find a clear (unused) radio channel and set it myself.

I guess that the pluged module on 72 Mhz does the scanning since it would be (has to be ) a RF function.

Note: I also operate on 2.4 but I have no problem on 72 because I am the only fellow on that band when I go flying using the 72 Mhz band  .

If your 12XMV warns you of a frequency conflict, there is apparently a difference between your and my transmitters. I have one of the first units sold and there is no warning. If I remember to use the scanner before turning on the RF, it will inform me what other frequencies are in use. But that is all it will do. It will certainly not prevent me from turning on a frequency that’s already in use.

This is what I use. Just about any of the name brand SD cards should work okay. Just do the save model first so that you know it is okay before doing an update.

Whether the antenna is pointed 45 up or down is going to depend on how you hold the transmitter. I hold my transmitter tilted upwards which would make the 45-degree-down antenna oriented horizontally. For my type of flying that is not good as the strongest signal off the antenna when the aircraft is overhead and the weakest signal when the aircraft is out in the distance and the antenna end is pointed at it. I prefer to angle the antenna 45 degrees up to have a strongest possible signal when the aircraft is out and away from me.

If you hold your transmitter flat, then the 45 degree down should work fine.
