I remember when I tried to learn to fly back the the late 70's. You don't know what it is like to join AMA and club, build a plane, take it to the field, have an experience instructor fly your plane, crash it, then laugh at you while he gives your transmitter back to you. If their were fewer people at the field, the two of us would have been on. Call me chicken, but I am not into unfair odds. Today, I visit a lot of fields. Most are very accommodating and usually after a couple of minutes of flying, are OK with me and my skill. Other clubs make comments that cause my pressure to increase but little more. It takes all kinds. I am just glad for real flight and a couple of good people with big hearts!
