user friendly,it has to be Taurus52 for me,7400 on a Menzs 22-8,most reliable,trouble free engine i have.
but the DLE55 has my attention now 7300 Xoar 22-8 laminate.but not enough time on it to tell how trouble free it is.all of my engines like Stihl Ultra @ 32-1.
i also like the BME58 a lot, but a little more finicky to tune and you half to pay more attention to the air coming in and going out of cowl for cooling,7640 on a Xoar 22-8 laminate,i love that.
those are the three best that i have, can't just pick one.

DLE-55 (now that I've resolved the crank bearing issue) After several gallons of regular gas with Homelite oil at 32:1 its cranking a Vess 23c at 7100 rpm. Always starts within 6 or 7 flips at the beginning of the day, sounds good with an MT-C65 canister. Its on the PRC 30% YAK-54.

Hi.
The sweetest gas engine I've ever run was a 3w 100iB2 signature series engine, and second is my Zenoah G-62 w/CH ignition. I'm getting some time on a 3W 70i, and have to say that this is the SMOOTHEST running single cyl. engine I've ever owned. Powerful too, as it yanks my 22 lb. Edge 540 around with abandon.
Oil used is BelRay S-2 @ 32 -1, then 50 -1 after breakin. Also use Yamalube, Pennzoil and have very good results with any of these.(no hard carbon deposits)
The 100 swung a 27 x 10 and the 70 is on a 24 x 10. The G-62 uses a 22 x 10. Thrust/power with these is exceptional.

For straight out ease of use, lack of problems, ease of tuning, decent power and overall reliability - G62 lite from RC Extreme power.

For user friendly it has to go to all of the Brison and Taurus engines I've had. Easy to tune and never any problems if I didn't hit the ground first. Next in line has to be a DA. If you can't get a DA to run you shouldn't be running a gasser.

I'm not going to enter the oil/octane/prop debate that is assured to start soon.

TOM, you forgot Spark plug in your list.

My fave is my Brison 3.2 with TCSA, that's why it's on my mantle and not in an airplane where my thumbs could hurt it. One of these days when I find an airframe worthy enough I'll put her back to work.

HI
WHAT was the crank bearing issue you had-and what did you do to solve the problem-if you replaced the bearings which did you choose to use ? this is an engine i am sure many are concidering using in the future
any info on the DLE 55the DLA 56 or the now DM 55 would be helpful-ARE THEY ALL THE SAME ENGINE BY DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS ? BEST REGARDS TONY

Any of my Zenoahs.....to be honest, I have always said that one of my all time favs is my first Homelite saw conversion-33cc. That engine has never, ever missed a beat and has had ZERO issues in the last 5yrs. I have been running it in my Jerrys Big Boy. It spins a Xoar 18x6 @ 8,900+ and is very smooth. I got a NIB DLE 55 that I am eager to test out and see how it compares to the DL50 I had. I use Penz. air cooled in all my gassers @ 32:1 and if I ever change it will be Stihl Ultra

Re the DLE 55. Do a search and one will find it's an old and resolved issue. The manufacturer changed bearings quite some time ago. Only those with zero or extremely limited gasser history are referencing ancient issues.

You mean that nice juicy bait was for nothing?
Damn!

Seriously, I personally favour engines that are ported with the high power at relatively low RPM range and therefore have the ability to swing larger props. This kind of porting is typical of engines like 3W and MVVS. I have an MVVS 80cc installed in a 97" Zero and have a 3-blade 26x10 prop which even though is in the very upper end of the recommended range, it runs well and exceptionally smooth for a single cyl 80cc. Without doubt the nicest engine I have had.
I'm now looking to buy my next MVVS80, this time it will be the twin spark version.

In the 50cc class, you would find them swinging 24" props, even 25", all depending on the application (type of plane). I won't even go into the oil thing.
Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for

I've got, in an aircraft:

2 SPE 43's

2 RCGF 20's

2 DLE's 20 and 30cc

1 G-62

1 Fugi 43

1 Evo 35cc

1 CRRC 26

The Fugi leaks like a sieve. The SPE's have been reliable, but average in performance. The RCGF's run well and are easy to start. The G-62 hand-starts so easy it's incredible. The CRRC has a low power output and the timing was so far off I had to use an electric starter til Jedi-Jody indicated it needed re-timed. It was at 50 degrees advance. Now at 28, it is much better. The Evolution has a great power-to-weight ratio, and the DLE's have the most power for their size. I run all of them on 8 to 10 inches of pitch and use 32-1 Royal Purple synthetic oil. Favorite: The DLE 30.

Tough choice for me. My top three favorites would have to be my DA150, g62lite, and my ZDZ Super 80 which I foolishly sold this summer.

Mine are:

Zenoah G26 with C&H ignition (great engine)
Spe 26 ( runs good, no power)
DLE 30 (great engine)
ZDZ 40 (great engine)
Evolution 45 (good engine, bearing problems)

My fav out of the bunch is the DLE 30. Easy hand start, lightweight, great power and very reliable.
