I'd love to see a pic of their RCV engine testbed with the airscoop, then.

A pic is worth a thousand words.

Happy New Year, ya'll!

The argument is easily settled. Michael-simply ring up Weston and ask them. I've already done all the work and provided you with the telephone number!

Thanks for the correction on prop size Michael, you are spot on, 18 x 12  2 blade for the run in. Trusting my memory can be a frivolous exercise for me sometimes.

Cheers,  Rob

Where do you get an argument from? There is no argument here! LOL!

Happy New Year! Regards.

Sorry Michael, argument was a bad choice of words.  I should have used "discussion" or "debate".
Here's hoping you have a prosperous and healthy 2011,

Cheers.

I've been running a 120SP in a CMP 71" span Zero for the last 4 years or so. I've definitely had my share of frustration with the thing, but, other than the first hour or so of breaking it in, the problems were always when it was in the cowling.

I've played with different baffling etc, and found that removing the dummy radial from the cowl completely fixed my overheating problems in flight. I had a nice sized inlet and exhaust, with baffling on the top and sides, but it wasn't enough.

On a test stand or cowl off, it doesn't need any kind of baffling etc. and runs like a top. I've got roughly 6 gallons of fuel though it (Omega 10%). YMMV.......

It is definitely the coolest engine I've played with in over 30 years in the hobby. My 120SP had been sitting a few months, so I fired it up in the driveway today, and it's still running great.

Oh, and I also have a 60SP in a Hangar 9 T-34 that has been awesome. The 60 hasn't given me any trouble at all.
