Mark your calenders! Just announced!
May 27, 28 & 29 we have been selected as the host field for the very first Military Warbirds over Fredericksburg!
This event is sponsored by Hobby Hangar in Chantilly, Virginia.
and hosted by the F.A.R.C.C.

This is going to be a great event. It will be open to ALL eras of
military aircraft . ALL sizes (foamies to giant scale) and ALL power plants (gas, electric, jets, nitro).
Helicopters too! We have a seperate area for you. We have two grass runways. The main runway will
be for the larger warbirds and the secondary runway will be for all others. We want everyone who loves warbirds to feel welcome and fly!

PLUS, PLUS!!! We have a commitment from the famous Mac Hodges who will be performing with his huge B-29 aircraft!!!

Mac Hodges will be performing Friday AND Saturday at about 12:00 noon.
If you have not seen his exhibition in real life, come on out and see for yourself! It is awesome!

There will be door prizes for registered pilots! Very low "landing" fee- contact Sal Vezzi (info in prior post) for exact info on that.

We'll have concessions daily, and we're planning on a pilot's dinner too!

Is starting to come together, so make your arrangements to come out and have a great time!!!

The landing fee is a low $20. We want everyone to come out and enjoy themselves!

We have free RV parking and camping on site. No hook ups, but porta-johns are on site. Generators are welcome.

We are having cutomized T-shirts made up for the event. Really nice!

Our field is only a mile or so off of I-95, if you are travelling, swing on in and enjoy the event for a few hours!

If your planning on staying at the local hotels, you may want to give them a call.
Can't wait to see what ya'll bring!
I went out and bought a small P-51 just to be able to fly that weekend!!!

Hopefully some of you can make it. It's worth the price of admission (free!) to see Mac Hodges in person (Friday and Saturday around noon!)

I want to say THANK YOU to you, Mac and the rest of the crew for putting on a great demonstration/performance!
The B-29/X1 was just amazing (the things Mac does with that plane are really something to see!). Your "play by play" was truly entertaining as well! You do have the gift of gab!
Thanks for helping to make our first annual warbirds event a success!

  We really had a great time also, y'all have one of the best, if not the best setup  for a fly-in, just having spent a week at Joe Nall, having everything (motel, gas, food stores and ect.) within 1 mile of the field really made for a enjoyable weekend.

  With two landing strips and all the open fly over area, one couldn't ask for more, everything was clean and groomed to the "T".

  Mr. and Mrs. Campbell was a pleasure to meet and talk to, and what a outstanding pilot dinner, Mrs. Campbell still has the gang  talking about all the great home cooking .

Status: offline 		Just wanted to say thanks again to the F.A.R.C.C. and the Campbells for hosting this event and all their gracious hospitality.

What a great club.Great field and facilities too.

Best damn fried chicken I've had in years! Maybe Mrs C would consider going into the mail order fried chicken business?

You just can't say enough good things about the Campbells.
They are truly a treasure to this hobby.
We are lucky to have them

Thanks for the kind words.
I have forwarded the link to this thread to our club's webmaster. He said he was going to be sending it out as an email to all our club members, so I am sure that the Campbell's will see it.
Those of us that volunteer, take pride in our field and, always try to be good hosts. (We want you to come back! )
We had a good turn out (I base that on how busy I stayed cooking french fries!!), hopefully next year will be even bigger!
