Yes indeed too bad. I would buy another as a back up in a heartbeat. I see your a Carl Goldberg fan. I have a CG 60.5 in Ultimate new in the box as well. I will be putting my Syssa 30 in that though.

30 CC! Isnt that a tad on the large size considering the overall size of the airframe?

Not at all, my last one was powered by an evolution 35 and it flew great. With the lighter Syssa engine it should be amazing.

Mr67Stang - How did you like that Evolution 35 gasser? I just picked up a pre-owned Hangar 9 p51, 80", with and Evo 35 installed. Needs a little work before I try flying it (mainly the retracts aren't working just yet). The previous owner said it was VERY fast with this engine. Did it run well for you?

The Evolution 35cc is a great running engine with reliability and easy tuning being its best points. The downside is it is expensive, heavy, and a little less power than you might expect from an engine this size. It has the power of an OS 1.60 2 stroke glow and about 4 times the weight. Okay, maybey not 4 times but its abit of a pig. I am hoping to get the same power from from Syssa 30 as that Evo 35 had. All reports say I should.

""and a little less power than you might expect from an engine this size. It has the power of an OS 1.60 2 stroke glow and about 4 times the weight""

hmmm,, I'm wondering if there was something wrong with it, my MVVS 35 (same Engine) came out of the box with a defected Walbro and I know Morris Hobbies (the importer at the time) was replacing the carbs with the smaller ones that came on the 26cc

anyhoo, when Morris sent me the (wrong) smaller carb I called Walbro and they sent me the wright carb, I had it in my 15&1/2 pound GBY and it pulled it much better than I thought it would,,
I have seen more than a few OS 1.60 glow's, I'm betting your 35 had the 26 carb on it..

my GeeBee Y is a Pacific Aromodel's ARF 82" span (not produced any more, but you can get it in a 92" span model if wanted ),,

mine has been crashed but I have another new in the box,

in the photo I had my MVVS 35 in it,, my MVVS 35 will spin a Zinger 20x8 pro (peaked) a bit over 7600, and will turn a 3W 20x8 peaked at 7370/tuned for flight at 7200 (the Plug just a bit tan)

The issue I had with a MVVS 35 is that its a boat anchor. It certainly produces thrust  but my Mintor 33 was swinging similar props at higher Rpm and running cooler. Add to that its  nearly 30% lighter 1580gr vs 1185 g i didn't bother to buy it. Ordering a MVVS 30cc instead. Oops back to the DLE20.

IM real happy with the pawnee,it flies great looks great and ie well built. The only problem Ihad is on landing I loosened the landing gear block,I had to epoxy some hardwood blocks into the fuse for more support.I would get another easy tiger model if they offer someyhing I like.  Regards Glenn

I've picked up an EMS B25 95.5" wingspan model at an auction, and its getting two dle 20's. I allready have one. I'm going to break them in on an KMP seafury of 71" wingspan. I think that they will move the seafury sufficiently don't you? thanks

Sportstar scratch built from MAN plans, Nov. 2009 issue, hand laid glass cowel over foam plug, 74" span, 113/4 # , DLE 20,single 2600ma Life flight pack with 42 % products opto kill switch.

No extra balancing weight was needed and very minor trim on first flight. At this weight, it is pretty docile and well behaved but the 20 stll has enough power to do big loops and such. Soon to be replaced with a new DLE 30 to spice things up a bit.

HP146R - very nice looking plane. With a 74" wingspan the DLE30 should be perfect.

Now that I've got my Pulse 125/DLE20 combo in the air I've decided on my next build.  I'm now going to shoe horn one into a Great Planes Super Chipmunk.
