I have my first one in an Ultra Stick 60, and it has spectacular performance.

Any pictures of your install? Did you cut the firewall?

I have a G-26 on a US lite, and the firewall had to be cut. I have 2 US 60's, one has a 95AX and the other is NIB. Was thinking about a DLE-20 on the US 60, Im loving the gas motors I have.

No, it was easy. I will post a few new pics tomorrow.  I have about 30 flights on it.  It is the highest performance Stick in our club by far.

Me too! You got it flying yet? Mine's ready to go, just waiting on the weather to cooperate.

HI
IF your 60 size stik performs that well-a lot of people will be paying a lot of good attention to what you are up tomaking an IKON
in this hobby perform better than before sure works for methats what we are hear to do-this process keeps all things that fly and improve -even more FUN than before to be good at this hobby all one must do is copy that which he see's working real well at the flying field( or waking at night with a brain storm ! ) i have a lot of planes and fly for 20 years more than most-just so happens my MIDWEST 60 SUPER STIK is the plane i have loged the most RC hours on the plane will fly in any conditions and handle them well or a go to to relax
a good performing SMALL gas engine could very well change the way we look at our RC powerplants in the futureBRAVO

I am considering putting one in a 1/3 scale Druine Turbulent I am going to build from a vintage Precedent (UK) kit. I scored this kit from another RCU member after seeing a 6 year old post by him regarding the kit. I believe it has an 87" span, and will probably weigh in the 10 lb. range. Should be a relaxing floater! I would prefer possibly an OS 160 twin, but in recent years these have gotten unreasonably expensive with the high value of the Yen vs. the USD.

Precedent made nice kits. I built their 1/4 Aeronca Champ. Too bad their new parent company took all their wood kits off the market after buying the company about 10 years ago.

Here are some pics of the DLE-20 on the UStick 60. The ignition box is in the nose where the fuel tank used to be.  Since it gets such good gas mileage, the smaller tank is good for about 15-20 minutes and since it is at the C/G it does not change as it drains.  The small circuit board near the tank is the Syssa IBEC and I have it in the "gear" port on the JR921Rx that is under the Life battery. This way, I have an easy on/off switch on the Tx, with a small LED on the right side that indicates if the ignition is hot, and it regulates the voltage into the ignition to 5.6v.  As you can see, the rudder and elevator servos are rear mounted and the C/G is perfect this way.  The all up weight is 7 pounds. 14 oz.

Thanks, it is fun and is no hassle to take it out.  All I do I make sure it is charged up (the 1800mah LiFe will last all day and then some, it is overkill), and put gas in it and go.  Turn it on, flip the prop and we are flying.  No oil on the bottom, and 3 flights cost about a quarter.  Other planes handle better and will do things that this Stick could never do, but it hovers at 1/2 throttle, takes off in (seriously) 5 feet and accelerates vertically better than my electric AJSlick.  It is also the fastest plane I have, I need a radar, but it must be doing 90 MPH anyway in a straight line, even with the 17-6.  Any more speed than this will probably make it flutter or rip the wings off.  The guys at the club say things like "Wow Gary, do you think you have enough motor on that thing"?

I am building a GP Extra 300 for mine. If it runs as good as everyone says, I am thinking of a TF B-25 with Two DLE-20

I can not wait to see that B-25 in the air. Can already hear those twin 20's screaming over the runway.

My extra 300 will be on hold until after the X-mas Holiday. My work area will be used for family dinners.

That looks a good setup. I've got a Great Planes Big Stik 60 I'm about to maiden (no dle20 sorry), Any comparison between the GP stik and the Ustick? Have been thinking a DLE20 could be good for my next 60 size stik.

great thread.would love to see some video of the DLE20 at work! I had a ultrastick but they stopped making the arf.I would love to install the DLE20 in a warbird ..my dle30 is in my seagullextra 260 180.God its great to have gassers in our everyday planes without having to go giant ..not that is bad either but I dont plan to fly any glow next year other than my satios.I would love to see how the 20 works in the 68 3dh velox!! that might be my next plane although extreme flight is releasing a 60 inch extra soon..

I am waiting for a reasonably quiet muffler to hang on a DLE20. The stock setup is just too loud for my ears and my field.

Installed my DLE 20 on a PT-17 ..Works just fine..plenty of power.
Using 17 X 8 prop..123 Battery with Limiting Diodes (3) for the Ignition system.
It is the Great Planes PT-17 Recovered.

Which PT-17? I may be interested in a similar setup.

The UStiick does not have any dihedral and flys just as well inverted.   It has the split flaps and the control surface area is greater.  While by no means a 3D plane, it it still a very high performance aircraft.  It is easy to fly in all but stupid wind and if you cant land this, you should take up R/C cars.  I still have fun flying this even with the other "better" planes I have.

I have a NIB Showtime 90 and Sig Mayhem. I have a YS 110 and I have a DL 20 on order. I will probably go with the YS 110 with the showtime and Hitec 985 servos and put the DL 20 in the Mayhem with Hitec 5625 servos.

Going to start with a GP Skybolt kit I have. Was originally going to use a YS, but they are too finicky and glow Fuel is $$$. I also have a CG Ultimate kit that I might go DLE also instead of the ST 90K that I have.

Have my DLE 20 installed on a 70" Great Planes Revolver - about 9lbs. Have only two days of flying in it so far, but it looks VERY powerful! Am using an APC 16x7. Still some carb fine-tuning to do, but I think this plane will be a rocket. The DLE looks to have power similar to my other one Revolver with a YS 140.
