tough
waterproof
looks good..
but ofcourse when you hear someone start bagging it , your gone think
my mate said he keeps breaking arms , knuckles etc and he said he barely bashes?
ive seen these things cop a caining and come back for more... pretty solid truck
so can the people who have truly put them to the test give me thier opinion?

It depends, if you're constantly hitting the wall at 50 mph or jumping it over your house, things are going to break. If you take care of it and do the occasional flip, you'll just have to worry about standard parts wear. Things like tires and bearings. From my experience it's been a great basher and track truck. I go out to the local track once a week or so and will race against other guys out there practicing and it holds up well. I don't race on race nights, though. Not my thing. Just swap out the tires and it does great. The stock tires with their semi hard compound do better on the street.

i've had mine for about 4 months. 90% of my runtime has either been at an outdoor track or an indoor, carpet track. the indoor track is very hard on RC's. it has big jumps, hard walls (this is set up in the back of business. home made job), and a pole that if you set up two jumps wrong, you can tattoo it. the outdoor track is a standard 1/10th scale. here is my broken parts list:

-2 6888x front drive hubs. i switched to STRC aluminum and it's held up.

-rear carrier. switched to TRX aluminum and haven't had any more issues.

-rear stub axle

-bent both of the front shock shafts (these were on the indoor track. big jumps with nose first landings on hard carpet is bad). i went with the gold colored TRX upgraded shafts and those seem to be holding up.

i think that's pretty good. i have a brand new pack of RPM a-arms that i haven't opened. i've seen many a-arms broken on the SC10's and B4's that i run with at the indoor track. i must say my 4x4 has seen some hellacious crashes and nothing has broken during most of them. i'd say it's a pretty durable truck.

on a side note, these guys have just about converted me. i just got a B4, and will be getting an SC10 very soon...

The slash 4x4 is a very tough rc. After a yr w/ mine the only part i've broken is the front plastic drive adapter after a big jump-metal ones are cheap but effective upgrade- i got one from strc. Still running my orig. spur and axles to.

The front plastic drive adapter is the only thing i have broken in the last year of 90% track and 10% bash and I do not p*ssy-foot this truck. oh, and the rear bearing too, went with the kingheadz motor mount and bearing to fix the problem area.

The truck is tough, basically like racing with an armored truck. Mines taken a beating and even been smashed on by a couple Escale buggies in open practice and come back for more. Ive had it 6 months, bent one shock shaft, chewed a spur gear, and broke a rear carrier. As far as the parts you ordered, smart going with RPM, itll be rare occurence that youll break those parts. Might wanna junk the traxxas connectors tho and spend the smae amount on Deans connectors, SO much better especially if youre running LiPo like mine

nice order, but i would have gotten the king headz motor mount and an STRC aluminum front drive hub. IMO, those two are mandatory...

If you treat it like it's waterproof, it isn't.

Gonna disagree with you. i've never had an issue with the traxxas connectors. and, if you google it, they flow just as good as the deans
