I got a responce already. They've never shipped to the US and are researching their options.

Here is the email for those interested.

Dear Mr. Roberson,

thanks for your request. Here is an offer for scale FW190 Props:

We are spezialized for manufacturing individual wooden airscrews right the way you want to have them.
Exactly calculated for the power of your engine and in scale-look according to the typ of plane you fly.

Our props are working in elektric gliders, elektric-, combustion- and turboproppowered plane, windgenerators, hoovercrafts, gyrokopters and experimentals as well as modellscale as scale 1:1.
Powerrange from 200W (experimentals), normaly from 8kW up to 60HP like 3W-684-B4 or more.

The range starts at 35 inch diameter up to 80". Usually the props are made of beech wood.
3-blade props are 4-times laminated with glassfibres in the boss for very high max. speeds.

For calculating we need the rotary speed, horsepower and cruisespeed. For design we need the typ of plane or a picture of the prop directly from the front to line out blades contour.

If you want you can order your prop inclusive borepattern if you tell us the reference circle and diameter of srews (such as 40mm 6x M5 for Moki 250).

You can order the props in different grades of finishing, see pricelist:
http://www.seidel-props.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=41

For example a 32" diameter costs as well as 35" diameters.

60% ready / 60% price: 200,- Euro Prop is only CNC-milled and has a centerbore 10mm
90% ready / 90% price: 300,- Euro Additional grinded and balanced, not varnished
100% ready / 100% price: 333,- Euro Additional clear varnished, ready to use

-
Additional options:

special painted: beamless black, white, aluminum silver
20,- Euro

Borepattern
15,- Euro

Porto to USA: about 40,- Euro

Costs for toll is yours. So far we didn't ship props to USA and first got to find out about other costs and regulations. Maybe you got some experience?

For ordering a couple of identical props here is a table of %:

1-3 pieces 100% price
4-6 pieces 90% price
6-10 pieces 80% price
10-20 pieces 70% price

Please let us know the typ of your engine.

To watch some FW190-Props take a look at your galery:
http://www.seidel-props.de/index.php?option=com_zoom&Itemid=48&catid=5&PageNo=5

If you got more questions please feel free to ask me.

Very friendly yours

Mario Seidel

Guess it means props like that SHOULD be made here but.....

You seen the wood props made for us in the USA lately. Looks nothing like that. Not even close.

About a decade ago, someone was making tires for the F-W and the ME-109 variants in three or four scales. Any one remember just who did this? and worst off, where are they now?

Ahhh ok thats nice but where are the props...
Funny folks mention Glennis, I could remember when he started around 2000 people use to say his stuff was crap..along with Hitec servos. LOL. I didn`t think so. I wish those threads were still there from when RCU first came online just as RC-Online went south. Boy the bashing was hot as fire. Its all good though. Its nice that things have turned around.
Still would be nice for props and engines like those Moki to be made here .

Actually we started in December of 1989 - the online forums just started around 2000. It is funny how those threads died and disappeared, as did the ones who wrote them, and the moderators that befriended/supported them. Makes you wonder what the motivation was, and what was accomplished. By confronting those who wrote wild "stories" and outright lies about our products, they quickly faded away and became few and far between. 21 years later here we are, but some manufacturers didn't survive and gave up, leaving wild gaps in areas that may never be manufactured again (possibly the prop dilemma, and a U.S. mfg. for them). That is the sad fact that isn't posted about.

Hey you guys been around for quite a while longer than I though. Good to see you survive the storms. Guess its not been easy, never is. But I still wonder how Germany does it but the US just can`t seem to get it together. You look at the things they produce that people here is willing to pay an arm and a leg for, while businesses here find it hard to stay afloat. Why is that? Now I know about regs , red tape, taxes, cost and all that. I think though the pride in producing a good quality product has been gone a long time by many, replaced by made cheap as possible and resell for the biggest buck. That kind of thinking killed it for many industries in the US from the car industry all the way across the board. When people buy things from Germany they know they are getting something that is quality, well made and will last for a long time. Unlike the American mind set, make to last for a few years then it is no good. You make it to last too long then there is no profit. Shame in producing poor quality is gone. To put it simply people have no trust in American made anymore. They rather pay less for Chinese, Korea or Japanese made knowing the quality would be about the same. Why pay 2 or 3 times as much for the same quality.
Now Chinese and Korea quality has come a long way from 10 years ago. There cars are selling like hot cakes while GM still is on life support.

Ramstein, that's what people are drowing about here, that there is no one in the USA who offers this kind of service.

From what i understand these guys are offering CUSTOM manufactured props for your particular application. anything you have custom made is going to cost a small fortune! from their website that do not hold stock of props, they make them once they have all your particular models details.

The other thing i'm not understanding is that people are crying out that there isn't that kind of service in the USA when there is!!!! SOLO Propellors!!!!!!!! right on your doorstep (compared to me anyway) and they make whatever size and blade count you need, and ground pitch adjustable. Price, not far off the German Prop price.

Thanks

dave

Thanks. I've heard of soloprops but the problem is that no one is making a SCALE FW190 prop in the U.S. without having to send specs on the prop. If you have a allied bird, there are places to get a scale prop but not for the German birds.

Just like if you want a Mustang, everyone makes one but a accurate FW190 is hard to come by.

It's not that you can’t get close craftsmanship of the prop but accurate craftsmanship is what we’re looking for!

Thats why this thread was exciting to me!

I don't want to help you design it.. the German company just wants you engine info so they make the already designed prop work best for you application!

I'll just stick to my cheaper props that look cool.

yep. been looking for awhile for a paddle-prop for a 109. but have no desire to pay $500+ for one.
so barring lack of options, I'm going with these guys: http://www.zingerpropeller.com/3_bladed_Propeller.htm
