I hear ya. I'm not trying to start a Hawk vs. Raptor flame war. My retort was directed at the comments some have made about the Hawk. Unlike Bluto some have made negative comments with out any basis. Although I don't agree with Bluto at least he lists why he doesn't like the Hawk and I respect that.

Like Syclic pointed out. All helis can have problems... even Raptors. Is it my friend's setup? No, he's had experts look at it but that's not the topic here. If you're really interested we can talk off line.

As I've said before, I don't own a Raptor so I will refrain from bashing it. If I've offended any Raptor owners, I apologize. I hope that non-Hawk owners will do the same; don't bash it if you don't own/fly it. The truth is a Raptor 60 just might be my next heli.

PharmacyGirl asked for opinions so I'll base mine on facts.

FACT: My Hawk flies every time I've taken it out.
FACT: I don't have any problems with it.
FACT: You're hearing this first hand from a Hawk owner.
FACT: I was a total newbie when I built it (it was easy)
FACT: I've only been flying for 4 months and my friends (Raptor owners) are impressed at how well I'm doing.

It's easy for some heli pilots to get BRAND defensive but I hope PharmacyGirl can read between the lines, pull out the relevant facts and honest opinions and thus make an intelligent decision.

I would be happy to look at the pieces you have between the two caliber 30'S, and give a honest opinion of what it would take to make one good bird of the two, and like was said already, perhaps buying a new caliber 30, with all the spares you have might be a good idea. I am new also to helis, but am good with tools and would be happy to donate my time, if you think it might be helpful. I'll be the FIRST to say I'm not a set up expert, simply a put the pieces together type experience, LOL.

I also really like the idea of when it comes time to set up, or really even deciding on which product also, to listen to the experienced successful hobbyists. Theres no substitute for hands on experience, and a already written past of success. Listen to the accomplished hobbyists, that are willing to share.

Status: offline 		*sigh* but all of the wonderful help so far has been SOOO good so far. I just can't make up my mind. Maybe I should get TWO. Two of everything is always better. Or maybe I just need some emotional guidance or something in replacing my other two copters. Or maybe I just need a kiss.....
