I was talking to Richard at YS last night and he was telling me that he showed a 1.75FZ at the Ontario show. It runs on 10-15% nitro and makes about 1.60DZ power. More as I know it but he and I thought it might not be a bad thing to let the YS faithful know that it may be coming at a good price point.

Yes, I spoke with Richard and Ray at the AMA show and he said it might be a good engine for our warbird racing since it will be a bit cheaper than the 1.70 DZ was. I'm lkeeping an eye open for it.

Blessings, Terry

I'd love to see it hit the market. I have a few pattern buddies that won't fly YS due to "expensive" fuel so they run the OS 1.60 on sport fuel and suffer on the uplines. This engine would take care of the argument and the power.

The 1.70DZ will run fine on 15% nitro. I ran several gallons through mine just to verify this was the case. You just have to go to a slightly smaller prop, but it will run fine on lower nitro. The engine is happiest between 7800-8300 on glow, so you just have to find props that run in that range. It isn't happy if you try to run a larger prop at lower RPM unless you have the CDI unit on it.

Way off topic, and probably nothing the pattern guys would be interested in, but with the YS CDI ignition system, has anybody thought about converting a YS 4C to Gas similar to the Saitos? Seems like a scale flyers dream to me...

That is probably a better question for the general engine forums.

Hi all YS lovers.

Can some one tell me when will the new YS 175 CDI be available for purchase in the USA?.

I was really almost given up on the YS engines just because of the price of fuel.

But i found out that a member of the Argentina F3A Team uses 10% nitro fuel on his 170CDI with awesome results and that 30% nitro is not needed for good results.

And that is the reason why i`m waiting on the new release from YS.

Cheers.
